I’ll tell you right now: if you’ve passed up any of Taylor Sheridan’s films for any reason, you’d best set aside the weekend to check out Hell Or High Water, Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario or even Stefano Sollima’s sequel to that very film. Sheridan wrote those titles and even made his directorial debut a few years ago on Wind River which stands as one of the best, most-received neo-Westerns ever made.

DISORDER: ‘Logan’ Helmer James Mangold Circling To Direct Sony’s French Thriller Remake
Taylor Sheridan is off to a terrific summer start after winning the Un Certain Regard director prize at Cannes last month for his sophmore directing gig, Wind River, which is currently housed at The Weinstein Company. The celebrated screenwriter of other hit films like Hell Or High Water, or Sicario and its upcoming sequel, Soldado, isn’t going to sit still for very long as it is now being reported that his script remaking the 2015 Alice Winocour-directed/co-written French thriller, Disorder (a.k.a. Maryland) has finally landed a director in Logan helmer James Mangold.
The original saw actor Matthias Schoenaerts as Vincent, a PSTD survivor and former solider home from Afghanistan whose new line of work pits him against an unverified threat while protecting the wife of a rich businessman (Diane Kruger) in France. As Deadline reports, Sheridan’s script, in a rare departure from original material, used Winocour’s film as a starting point and applied several alterations to the story – setting the story on the Spanish island of Majorca, changing the solider’s affliction and adding a love story to boot – to earn the script’s standing as a potential franchise vehicle.
Escape Artists’s own Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch and Tony Shaw are producing the film as initially reported late last year. David Beaubaire is overseeing the production for Sony with plans for Mangold to look over the script together and hopefully get cameras rolling before 2018.

French Thriller, DISORDER, Is Next In Line To Be Remade With ‘Sicario’ Writer Scripting
It’s a terrific time to be in screenwriter Taylor Sheridan’s shoes as of late. Last year’s Sicario and this year’s hit crime drama, Hell Or High Water have all but offered high marks for the acclaimed scribe who has since moved onto directing his latest completed thriller, Wind River, for a likely 2017 release.
We’ll have more on that end for later, while it’s now being reported via Deadline that he’ll be providing the script to remake the 2015 Alice Winocour-directed/co-written French thriller, Disorder. The original saw actor Matthias Schoenaerts as Vincent, a PSTD survivor and former solider home from Afghanistan whose new line of work pits him against an unverified threat while protecting the wife of a rich businessman in France.
Escape Artists’s own Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch and Tony Shaw are producing the film which still has yet to cast or enlist a director. Sheridan is also contributing a script to the forthcoming Sicario sequel, Soldado before long, and with Stefano Sollima helming an expected Fall shoot.
