THE HIT LIST – September 12, 2016

Happy Monday night here on this side of the globe! I hope everyone has had an easy start to their week as we slowly but surely approach the Fall season. Guaranteed, of course and as always, are just some of the latest smashing stunt and training reels by today’s performers to start another fresh installment of the weekly Hit List! Kicking things off is stuntman Haitao “Johnny” Zhao, Bobby Hernandez, Meili Carpenter, Omar Zaki, Amanda Voll and Sergei Dmitriev. Watch Team Tempest Grant This Kid The Best Christmas Ever

After receiving a poignant and heartfelt letter of appreciation from a Louisiana mother in the name of her fourteen-year old son, Malachi (a.k.a 9 Lives), an aspiring traceur, Tempest fan and survivor of numerous and harrowing life-threatening illnesses and injuries, Tempest members Jessie La Flair and Cory DeMeyers decided to pay a surprise Christmas visit… The rest is history. Tempest Goes For A Beach Run In BAD DOOD

A little bit of classic Muhammad Ali audio gets featured in Tempest Freerunning’s latest video edit this week, Bad Dood. The new short video, shot on location at Venice Beach showcases two of its own, Gabriel Nuñez and Luci Romberg, with fellow freerunning pro-athlete and stuntman Pasha Petkuns, who hails all the way from Thailand by way of Team Farang. It is pretty much what it is-three of the world’s most highly acclaimed performers doing what they love in a sport that continues to cultivate its way through the mainstream, by way of TV, film, and for some, as a way of life. Remember your favorite classic Nintendo characters Mario and Luigi? Yeah, I played it obsessively too, and pathetically I never beat the first game until I was in college and a member of a genre game-comic book-anime fanclub. Yep, we had almost everything, even the classic Nintendo unit, and I played that sucker until I finally beat it! Ah, memories. LOL! I always write about movies on my site, but I also like to take a moment to share the appreciation a lot of us have for the gifted athletes it takes to execute some of the brilliant stunts we so often see in films through various formats. In this case, meet Jesse La Flair, an internationally known pro-athlete and American Ninja Warrior representing a new generation of traceurs for the new millenium. To his credits, La Flair is also a Hollywood actor and stunt performer. He is slated to appear in the romantic action thriller Run, the martial arts comedy, Bloody Sport and the 2014 epic sequel adventure, 300: Rise Of An Empire. One of the things freerunner Rich “Dickie Boy” King wishes he could do is “Travel around the world for 1 year freerunning, surfing, skydiving, climbing mountains, and partying with indigenous people.” Well, somewhere in the world, Rich King was in the middle of an earthquake…naked.
