TENET, Slated For August 12, Makes It Official With New Key Art

Provided people do what they’re damn well told at this point and wear masks to help prevent the spread of Covid-19, Warner Bros. Pictures won’t hopefully have to keep moving the release date back for Christopher Nolan latest theatrical endeavor, Tenet. The studio is asserting moviegoers with an August 12 release date by way of new key art which you can view below, featuring actor John David Washington. The release comes following a planned re-release of Nolan’s 2010 sci-fi espionage thriller, Inception, on July 31 to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Director Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception) has had every intention of releasing his latest theatrical endeavor, Tenet, on July 17, even now in the wake of an industry left atrophied by a pandemic with a reported $160 billion dollars in the hole. With some exhibitors around the world slowly coming back to life, time will tell if Nolan and Warner Bros. Pictures get their way and get moviegoers to come and undertake the full-on theatrical experience the film offers. Judging by the grand-scale feats of storied imagination through action and spectacle in the latest trailer – all shot with a mix of IMAX and 70mm film, it looks positively worth it. TENET First Official Trailer: Christopher Nolan Toys With Time To The Backdrop Of Espionage

I’m still trying to process what is currently being sampled in the official trailer for writer/director Christopher Nolan’s new film, Tenet. No plot details have yet been revealed but as always, Nolan sticks to some really great caveats and tropes when it comes to his craft, and it always results in some intriguing, deep-in-scope narrative epic. His latest seems to be no different as it deals with the element of time as part of its story and seeming action sequences. John David Washington and Robert Pattinson star in the new action espionage epic filmed between IMAX and 70mm film. A July 17 release is now in order and with Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh rounding out the cast.

The Dark Knight trilogy and Dunkirk helmer Christopher Nolan’s capacity to handle action has since carried over with the current production of his latest film, Tenet, following its July 17, 2020 announcement from Warner Bros. Pictures. Principal photography is underway from Nolan’s script with locations spanning as many as seven countries for “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage” according to the studio. The director is combining IMAX® and 70mm lensing for an international ensemble cast listing John David Washington (BlacKKKlansman), Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga, The Lighthouse), Elizabeth Debicki (Widows), Dimple Kapadia (Finding Fanny), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Outlaw King, upcoming Kingsman: The Great Game), Clémence Poésy (The Ones Below), with Michael Caine (The Dark Knight) and Kenneth Branagh (Murder On The Orient Express).
