Director Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception) has had every intention of releasing his latest theatrical endeavor, Tenet, on July 17, even now in the wake of an industry left atrophied by a pandemic with a reported $160 billion dollars in the hole.
With some exhibitors around the world slowly coming back to life, time will tell if Nolan and Warner Bros. Pictures get their way and get moviegoers to come and undertake the full-on theatrical experience the film offers. Judging by the grand-scale feats of storied imagination through action and spectacle in the latest trailer – all shot with a mix of IMAX and 70mm film, it looks positively worth it.
John David Washington is the new Protagonist in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle “Tenet.”
Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.
Not time travel. Inversion.
Also featured are The Batman star Robert Pattinson, and actress Elizabeth Debicki, with Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh.
