THE BOYS Are At The Center Of One Man’s Unyielding Resolve In The Official Trailer!

Unbowed and National Security helmer Chung Ji-young returns to audiences this Winter with crime drama procedural, The Boys, from CJ Entertainment. Chung reunites with Unbowed scribe Chung Sang-hyup who penned the story based on real-life events that took place in 1999. The film stars Sol Kyung-gu (Kill Boksoon, Yaksha: Ruthless Operations) as the chief investigator who sets out to reopen a case pending doubts about the convictions of three boys following a supermarket robbery that escalated into a homicide. Also starring are Yu Jun-sang, Jin Kyung, Heo Sung-tae, Yum Hye-ran and Kim Si-ha for the film’s South Korean release on November 1. Enjoy the trailer!

• Victoria Mahoney, second unit director on Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, will direct the mix of new and returning cast members for The Old Guard 2 for Netflix. The second season is set to premiere September 4 with weekly episodes through Friday, October 9, and the newest, unapologetic and superbly violent trailer is now online, and not for the faint of heart. Creator Eric Kripke’s 2019 live-action serial comic adaptation, The Boys, was a superb hit in many of its parts, drawing together an interwoven tale of ragtag outlaws out to uncover the dark side of superheroism in all its corporatized glory and idolatry. Even moreso was the culminating arc centered primarily on the role of ex-cop Billy Butcher, played ferociously by actor Karl Urban, entrenched in a mission of vengeance exacerbated further by the mystique surrounding the presumed death of his wife at the hands of world-famous ‘supe’, Homelander, played aptly by Antony Starr. Eight episodes enlist the first of what’s to come with upcoming Amazon Original series, The Boys. Season one will debut on July 26 and in case you’re not yet an Amazon subscriber, the streamer’s latest NSFW trailer is out to help continue to make the case they’ve been making.
