Marvel’s THE INHUMANS Presents A New IMAX Poster, Affirms TV Premiere Date

September will be one of at least two Fall bookmarks for moviegoers and TV viewers keeping up with all things Marvel. For those explicitly following Marvel’s The Inhumans however, the ABC television series has been officially slated to air two back-to-back episodes on September 29 between 8:00pm and 10:00pm EST. Marvel’s Inhumans explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, played by Anson Mount, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. Let’s just put this out there: Regardless of how ecstatic you are over Marvel’s The Inhumans, it looks less than stellar or even IMAX worthy judging by Thursday’s EW reveal of our cast in costume. Perhaps some footage may tell a different tale, but that’s not what we get in the new teaser now online. Instead… we get voices! Check it out below and see if it’s your thing or not. It could be, but I rest my case here until I see some actual superhero action adjudicating why we should see the first two IMAX-bound episodes from director Roel Reine. Mike Moh, Isabelle Cornish, Eme Ikwuakor And More Round Out Marvel’s THE INHUMANS

It has been a week of news rolling out for casting announcements of upcoming ABC series, The Inhumans, based on the Marvel comics property. As of Friday, a quintet of names round out the cast list for the upcoming series being run by showrunner Scott Buck with Roel Reine directing the first two episodes for an IMAX premiere this September. Following Tuesday’s announcement of Anson Mount as the King of the Inhumans himself, Black Bolt, next to Iwan Rheon as the ambitious Maximus, actress Serinda Swan was named for the role of Medusa, the follicularly-inclined and able Queen and wife to Black Bolt, and actor Ken Leung for Karnak, the King’s most ardent supporter and critical thinker. While it took a few years for Marvel to get its footing with its stake on The Inhumans, the previously-planned MCU film eventually switched gears toward television as of last November. For this, we turn to the latest announcement of Hell On Wheels actor Anson Mount now being poised to play the role of Black Bolt in the forthcoming adaptation. Originally the 1965 brainchild of comic book auteurs Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, The Inhumans story is one that eventually branches out to other comic book properties throughout its history, but mainly centers on a society of superhumans who were originally test subjects of the Kree alien race thousands of years ago in an attempt to build an army to defeat the Skrulls in a time of war. The on-going war for bragging rights continues as Marvel and DC continue to duke it out, toe-to-toe, neck and neck for ultimate live-action comic book TV and film glory. DC is currently in the running following its most recent productions of productions for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, as well as the developing TV universe between current shows like Gotham, Arrow and The Flash, and upcoming teleivison properties like Titans, Supergirl and Krypton. Comic book movie news is a trip to keep up with. As of this writing, there are as many as thirty films listed between Marvel and DC from several studios slated to be released by 2020. Some titles still need details, including Marvel’s plans for a Doctor Strange movie, and any hopes of a return for Wesley Snipes in the role of Blade for a new film.
