An illustrious new action montage is now available on MTime promoting the newly theatrically released period fantasy action adventure, The Wrath Of Vajra. The footage is all new and shows actor Shi Yanneng (a.k.a. Xing Yu) in his first lead role taking on three of the film’s big bosses played by the towering Jiang Baocheng, actor and b-boy Nam “Poppin” Hyun-Joon, and actor Steve Yoo, featuring high energy action choreography by stunt coordinator Peng Zhang.
This week, fans got to see a brand new trailer featurette to help promote the upcoming September 24, 2013 3D premiere of The Wrath Of Vajra. There aren’t any subtitles available for the featurette, but according to several translational efforts from people on my end, it shows the following with director Law Wing Cheong discussing the three opponents lead actor Xing Yu faces in the film, played by Jiang Baocheng, Nam “Poppin” Hyun-Joon and Steve Yoo Seung-Joon.
Director Law Wing-Cheong‘s 2-part action adventure reboot, Iceman 3D still has several months left before debuting the first film in China on January 30, 2014, prior to the March release of the sequel. In the meantime, Law‘s upcoming World War 2 fantasy martial arts epic, Media Asia will be treating action filmgoers to his upcoming September 26, 2013 release date for The Wrath Of Vajra.
On Thursday, a surprise report from Film Business Asia writer Kevin Ma has reported that Sil-Metropole Organisation Ltd.’s sequel to the 2005 film, S.P.L. (a.k.a. Sha Po Lang), has been approved by State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT), otherwise known as the Chinese censorship board. International action star and world’s busiest bad guy beater-upper, Donnie Yen, who appeared in the 2005 action hit, has also been attached to star in the film by way of newly-attached Champions and Revenge: A Love Story scribe, Jill Leung Lai-Yin.
The period 3D martial arts action fantasy thriller, The Wrath Of Vajra, is back making headlines, and from the looks of the latest new English-subbed promotional spot, it’s easy to see why. No question either as to its success back in May when it sold to Well Go USA for North American distribution. That said, all we need are some release dates to give us an idea about when the rest of the world can look at this awesome new movie, featuring actor and martial arts action star Shi Yanneng in his first lead role.
Iceman Cometh 3D director Law Wing-Cheong will have a chance to dazzle audiences this month when the film gets its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Prior to this, Law also wrapped up another film headling former Shaolin monk-turned martial arts action star Xing Yu (a.k.a. Shi Yanneng) in his first lead role in Kylin Network and Ningxia Film Group’s new fantasy action adventure film, The Wrath Of Vajra.
The film stars 34 year old Xing Yu (a.k.a. Shi Yanneng) a former shaolin monk who has already dazzled audiences on stage and in several films, including Fatal Contact, Flash Point, Ip Man, and twice with veteran action performer and director Xin Xin Xiong in Once Upon A Time 3 and Shaolin to name a few.
