Last year’s releases may still be new news for folks outside of Kazakhstan like myself if the period adventure thriller, Tomiris, is new on your radar. The epic Herodotean tale opened last September, featuring actress Aizhan Lighg in the title role of the 6th century B.C. Massagetean Queen who united the Scythian/Saka tribes against the Achaemenid Empire led by Cyrus The Great, played by actor Gassan Massoud.
