A harrowing mission awaits five men looking for a grand steal in the official trailer now online for director J.C. Chandor’s new crime thriller, Triple Frontier. For this, you could even say the road to the film’s completion was equally enduring at best – once housed at Paramount back in 2010 and serving as the starting point for a marathon development period that lasted eight years. With Kathryn Bigelow opting for the helm, years of limbo ensued with a revolving casting door that saw the likes of Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp, Will Smith, Channing Tatum, Tom Hardy, and Oscar-winning actors Casey Affleck and Mahershala Ali. The road to fruition for upcoming action thriller, Triple Frontier, has been a long and winding one. The revolving door of actors dates back as far as 2010 with recent news of Channing Tatum, Mahershala Ali, Tom Hardy, Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck all circling the film at some point this year until departing the project while it eventually transitioned from Paramount over to Netflix back in May. News finally broke on Wednesday for the film revealing talks are happening with actors Mark Wahlberg (Transformers: The Last Knight), Charlie Hunnam (King Arthur), Garrett Hedlund (Mudbound) and Pedro Pascal (The Great Wall) with actress Adria Arjona (The Belko Experiment) also starring. TRIPLE FRONTIER: Netflix In Play With Affleck Bros. To Possibly Star

It was back in February that a trio of actors boarded J.C. Chandor’s action drama, Triple Frontier from Paramount. Long in development with Kathryn Bigelow once tapped to helm long prior, was a project nearing a production weeks away with Channing Tatum, Tom Hardy and Mahershala Ali all tapped to star until Paramount dropped along with the Tatum and Hardy – reportedly due to script issues. Deadline is now reporting that talks have been underway to keep the project alive and the word now is that Netflix may very well be its saving grace with Affleck sibs, Ben and Casey possibly to star. The logline is unknown for the film which is scripted by Mark Boal and reportedly focuses on unstable criminal activities along junctioning rivers at the border between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. TRIPLE FRONTIER: Ali, Hardy And Tatum To Star For Paramount Action Thriller

Actor Tom Hardy has some good news happening on the film front in various reports, one such including Deadline‘s latest piece on upcoming action thriller, Triple Frontier. SAG Award-winning actor Mahershala Ali (Luke Cage, Moonlight) will be joining Hardy for Paramount Pictures, as will actor Channing Tatum once confirmed. A Most Violent Year helmer J.C. Chandor is set to direct the film. Plot details are nil but the word is the film will focus on unstable criminal activities along junctioning rivers at the border between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Producing are Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment along with the film’s screenwriter, Mark Boal. Ali also stars in Robert Rodriguez’s current production of Alita: Battle Angel and director Michael Larnell’s Roxanne Roxanne which premiered at Sundance in January.
