IBUKI 192 Sets The High Seas Ablaze In The Latest Trailer
Snow On The Blade director Wakamatsu Setsuro will be back next year for folks keen on his narrative take on the real-life disaster in 2011 in the upcoming Fukushima 50 from Kadokawa. In the meantime, he’s setting up for another hopeful win at the box office with his latest harrowing military epic, Ibuki 192, which heads to theaters in May. Nishijima Hidetoshi and Sasaki Kuranosuke lead the cast. Kawaguchi Kaiji’s 2014 Big Comic publication serves as the basis for the 24-hour tale centered on the captain and second-in-command of the aircraft carrier, Ibuki, intervene when 20 mysterious boats fire upon unto Hateruma Island, taking Japan Coast Guard officers hostage in the process.
