The Movies That Moved Me: Bryan Singer’s X-MEN
Singer’s alleged reputation notwithstanding, we are still allowed to like things. And, I still like this movie.

Following an Instagram teaser late last week and Monday’s live twitter chat with director Bryan Singer, the new trailer arrived on Tuesday for the upcoming July 18, 2014 release of X-Men: Days Of Future Past. The new trailer also comes after viral teaser footage and images were presented over the summer as the film made its promotional run at San Diego Comic Con. Promising a much darker tone, the new film is based on the storyline presented in issues #141 and #142 where the assassination of a senator leads to a grim, desolate future where mutants are hunted by government-implemented Sentinels. The film stars Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Evan Peters and Boo Boo Stewart.
“What have you been doing for the last fifty years?” That’s the question kicking off the new viral campaign for Trask Indistries, the company responsible for creating the deadly “Sentinels” you will see in director Bryan Singer‘s upcoming July 18, 2014 release of X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Hopefully you also had the opportunity to catch up on the action with director James Mangold’s recent release of The Wolverine, featuring Hugh Jackman down to a surprise ending that will leave you blown away and wanting more. ComingSoon.net was on hand at the San Diego Comic Con for the unveiling of the Trask Industries model Sentinel busts earlier this month which you can view here. Singer has been slowly leaking in teaser pics and various photos from the set through his Twitter feed, as well as the official Days Of Future Past Tumblr site. Some of those pics include character portraits […]
May 1, 2015 will see the release of Joss Whedon‘s upcoming blockbuster superhero sequel thriller, Marvel’s The Avengers 2, which is still in casting stages. Granted actor Robert Downey Jr. does not leave his place as Iron Man in the franchise, fans will get to see the ensemble cast return in addition to a few new actors. Today, The Wrap tells the public that actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, best known for his role as the lead in the brutal crimefighting action comedy films, Kick-Ass and Kick-Ass 2, is being tapped for the role of Quicksilver. The news comes as actor Evan Peters (Never Back Down, Never Back Down 2) was reported for the same character in X-Men: Days Of Future Past director Bryan Singer’s upcoming superhero follow-up to Matthew Vaughn’s film X-Men: First Class. In the story line, Quicksilver (a.k.a. Pietro Maximoff) is described as a mutant whose gene grants him […]
Fans of X-Men get a double dose of Wolverine today as director Bryan Singer shared a set picture of Hugh Jackman dressed the titular, adamantium-clawed superhero from the comic book franchise. Jackman is currently filming the next sequel in the film franchise, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which follows the events of the previous film, X-Men: First Class, with a story that blends the 1970’s and a political assassination leads to a distant future where mutants are hunted by gargantuan machines called “Sentinels” decades later. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Paquin, Nicholas Hoult, Halle Berry, Shaun Ashmore, Daniel Cudmore, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, Peter Dinklage, Fan Bing Bing, Ellen Page and Adan Canto round out the cast for the film’s July 17, 2014 release. 20th Century Fox also unveiled a minute-long clip of Wondercon/CinemaCon footage from the soon-to-be-released James Mangold film, The Wolverine, which […]
With word of the new posters this week comes the action packed international trailer for director James Mangold‘s new film from 20th Century Fox, The Wolverine. Prior to the botched release of the trailer came increments of teaser footage for the trailer that lasted anywhere from 6 seconds to 20 seconds, which director James Mangold ended up having to apologize for. Not to mention the headache adding to the frustration behind Vine reels in the first place, which to me is a bit of a c***tease in the first place, and so that’s partly why I don’t blog about Vine clips for trailers when I would rather just put my energy into sharing all the goods. By the way, if you haven’t looked at the mini-teasers yet, then congratulations! You are a master now! 🙂 The film features actor Hugh Jackman reprising the title role following up the four previous […]
In a recent interview to promote this week’s release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, screenwriting pair Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick invoked a few words on preparation for the script about another comic book adaptation that has been waiting to hit the film set for a while now, Deadpool. Read the following exchange from ComingSoon.net: CS: Is there any update on “Deadpool”? I know a lot of people are very, very eager for that one. Reese: There isn’t. What has happened so far is that we wrote a script, which we subsequently developed. It actually leaked online, so it exists out there. It’s not hard to find, bizarrely. Since then, Fox gave Tim Miller, who’s our director and a wonderful guy who is brilliant at what he does, some money and had him go make a test sequence. He directed about a three-minute long test sequence from the movie, all built within […]
