It’s been 75 years since William Moulton Marston brought DC Comics character Wonder Woman to life in ink. Between then and now, it’s also been an insufferable matter of time until the Amazonian warrior would finally get her day in a feature film of her own after decades of Batman and Superman televsion shows and movies, save for a three-season program that would make actress Lynda Carter a televsion icon. Nonetheless, no one can say it’s been fair ride until now. Production is already underway for helmer Zack Snyder’s latest foray into DC Comics territory with Justice League: Part One which opens next year. The hype hasn’t been without some form of controversy though as there’s been news of internal restructuring among executives in the wake of mixed criticims over Snyder’s treatment of this year’s latest endeavor, Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The film did amply well at the box office but apparently not enough to quell fears of possible franchise fatigue, and so Warner Bros is taking it upon themselves to bring fans something a little special with a refurbished, R-rated ‘Ultimate Cut’ of the film on digital, DVD and Blu-ray this summer. Movie theaters around the world are preparing for another superhero onslaught this week with the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The film opens this Thursday and Friday following its most recent Sunday night premiere in New York City, and until then we’ll be left to binge on as many TV spots as we can take in like the one now online below. Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill star with Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons with Zack Snyder at the film for this in a line of films leading up to the Justice League films in 2017 and 2019. For now though, the Dawn itself ensues in explosive fashion in a few days. Check out the new TV spot below!

In what can only be described as the so-called “Deadpool effect” it now appears that Warner Bros. is curiously dabbling into R-rated territory, but with a catch! Comingsoon.net has learned via FilmRatings.com that Zack Snyder’s Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice is getting an R-rating for its Blu-Ray release in the form of Dawn Of Justice: Ultimate Edition. The current theatrical release of the film, opening in the U.S. on March 25, still stands at PG-13 so certain moviegoers won’t have to worry about walking into the wrong movie. Time will tell what this will mean for other films like the August 5 release of Suicide Squad and the Justice League films which open between next year and in 2019. I wasn’t hugely impressed despite my own anticipation of the film as I felt they were more eager to showoff the DC Trinity more than anything, and frankly, I think WB should slow down before revealing too much. Warner Bros. It’s of no fault of your own if you weren’t too impressed by the most recent event trailer late last year for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. That said, the TV spots seem to be earning a bit more praise as solely focusing on our key characters played respectively by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill without divulging too much as the rest of it is mainly suggestive. In sum, the vague detailing is a great sell and hopefully Warner Bros. doesn’t drop the ball on the next trailer should there be one. Admittedly, the most recent trailer for Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice doesn’t quite hit all the right notes, though you still get to see what all three of DC’s Trinity look like together on screen. That said, we still have a little over three months left and plenty of time between now and whenever the Justice League movies surface to see what impression we’re left with as Warner Bros races Marvel to the finish.
