Stephen Fung’s anticipated Once A Thief revamp, The Adventurers, is finally rolling out some footage in a fresh new teaser ahead of a 2017 release. Actor Andy Lau leads the cast with a story that refurbishes things a bit with regards to its narrative and with producing along with John Woo cohort Terence Chang. Also starring are Shu Qi, Tony Yang and Zhang Jingchu with Jean Reno adding to the film’s international appeal as sampled in the latest trailer which you can view below courtesy of Far East Films. I admit, it took me a few months to get a grip on the fact that The Adventurers and the upcoming reboot of John Woo classic Once A Thief were the same damn movie being directed by Stephen Fung. That said, I can finally sharpen my focus a bit and follow up on the news as it comes, and now with word that filming is currently underway in Prague following the most recent marriage of Fung and the film’s leading lady, actress Shu Qi. The film was announced earlier this year at HKFilmart under joint venture Flagship Entertainment with Fung to direct, and also lists actors Andy Lau and Tony Yang, and actress Zhang Jingchu. Director Pan Anzi is getting a warm IMAX welcome this summer with the release of his new film, For A Few Bullets. A new trailer is online this week to help oblige along with the latest IMAX poster while I certainly hope this one gets a Well Go USA nod myself. Actress Zhang Jingchu and actor Liu Xiaoqing lead the film’s neo-Western 1930’s tale of a government agent and slick con-artist forced to pair up and protect the national Imperial seal from the Japanese army. Also starring are actors Vivian Dawson, singer Tengger and seasoned Hong Kong thesp, Kenneth Tsang for the film’s July 15 release!

Actress Zhang Jingchu has long been a prospect of mine since first seeing her in Rush Hour 3 and Tsui Hark’s Seven Swords. Gladly she’s making another leading lady move this summer with director Pan Anzi’s stellar-looking neo-Western, For A Few Bullets and the most recent artwork looks just as delightful. Kenny Lin, actress Liu Xiaoqing, and actors Vivian Dawson, Tengger and Kenneth Tsang outline the cast with a story that centers on a reluctant partnership between a beautiful government gunslinger and a con-artist in order to protect the national Imperial seal from the Japanese military. The first official trailer now making the rounds hints a little more at what may be happening within the story, but it’s not without the promise of some big spectacle and epic gun-toting action to boot. Actress Zhang Jingchu Is Cast In MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5

Filming is already underway in the U.K. and a number of other international locations, and a batch of set pics have already gone viral for Paramount Pictures’ forthcoming release of Mission Impossible 5, the fifth installment of the self-titled franchise since it began in 1996. Lead actor Tom Cruise is returning with an amalgam of characters spanning the series, namely Ving Rhames who has appeared in all the films, in addition to MI: 3 & 4 co-star Simon Pegg, and actor Jeremy Renner who left his mark in the fourth film as well. The casting slate has since also added actress Rebecca Ferguson and actor Alec Baldwin with further details remaining undisclosed for the time being.
