The Hit List has taken a pretty interesting turn of late now that I actually get to host some video files on behalf of creators. It’s a blessing and I’m real thankful to those of you investing in my own YouTube channel to share your craft.
You’ll see a bit of that later, while we begin with the usual raft of demo reels from some of today’s top and emerging talent in stunts and action performance.
Up first is someone who rightly deserves the proliferation he’s gotten since throwing down in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Mission: Impossible – Fallout. His name is Liang Yang and his reel is up first followed by reels featuring Aaron D. Alexander, Jennifer Mitchell, Diego Ramiro, Eric C. Sun, Taylor Krasne, Danny Rivera, A.J. Gagliardi, Lauren Nguyen, Ben Tardif, Patrick Dunham, Bronte Coluccio, Jon Beal, Daniel Pera, Michelle Fisichella, Phillip Wainwright, Oliver Gough, Lana Katz, Alexander Geleisha, Troy Faruk, Jeff Karr, Ian Campbell and Jordan Okubo, followed by a re-entry of fight choreography stylings from Michel Quach by way of YouTube foley artist Epic Jax, stunt coordinator Freddy Bouciegues and action director Darrin Prescott.
At least two trailers for projects now making the rounds comprise a small playlist just below, beginning with Lauren Mary Kim with another stylish new entry into the Kali Diaries titled The Mark. The second hails from Dylan Hintz and director Brett Heidenreich for a fantastic new action drama short titled All Families Fight, with Hintz wearing multiple hats on the project including as action director repping DC Stunt Coalition.
It’s off to the final raft of videos packed with indie action talent and we begin with a contribution from Shannon Beshears to our channel, followed by a pair of hard-hitting entries courtesy of CombatWorks, and another rich offering to our channel courtesy of Tara Macken with Shoreline Showdown (click here for a quick behind the scenes clip).
Tricia Guarney and Justin Carney get their tricks and kicks in with David Lavallee Jr. while Chris Romrell and Ronnie Shalvis shoot it out, and Shawn Bernal lenses a pair of fight vids for Danielle Stahl and Loren Jones, and for Will Bennett and Breck Robinson. DL McDonald unleashes The Void just before Allen Quindiagan deliberates with Claire Hoogenboom over a Troll Toll, and Divya Agarwal clashes over a little sword-and-shield fun with Vicky Arora for Force Square Productions.
Chris Quan Yong and Sari Sabella mix it up with anime-flavored oddball action and laughs for Rustic B. just minutes before we head over to YDT Nepal‘s Rohan Jirel and Pema Dorje Lama for some practice action of their own, and Vlad Rimburg makes his entry into The Hit List these days with a taste of heyday indie online action with a Korean-style tete-a-tete from shortfilm thriller, Bet, with Allen Jo.
Team Red and Quirktastic light up the interwebs with a first look at their anime-inspired action mash-up, Afro Samurai Champloo with Tarell Bullock and Robin Calvo. From there we pick up with Hector Soria and Philip Shepard in a Last Dragon fan vid from Kamen Ramen Studios, and it’s off to the woods for Godefroy Ryckewaert’s new action comedy, Pierre & Jacky, starring Franck Blanc and Alexandre Moreira.
Jordan Cann takes to Film Combat Syndicate’s channel to help premiere his newest action comedy short, Pizza Fight, with Michael Antonio and James Hillebrew, followed by Bronwin October’s newest thriller, Ou Brasse, Nathan Bender’s brutal six-minute assassin vs. assassin foray, Still Alive, and director Kristen Brancaccio’s specatcular action sci-fi spy thriller presentation over at SYFY titled Resistance.
From there, Wong Fu Productions makes its long-missed return to The Hit List with Wesley Chan’s stunning new martial arts sci-fi, Trace, with Brandon SooHoo, Brittany Ishibashi and Ritesh Rajan, along with Film Combat Syndicate favorites Noah Fleder and Christopher Troy. Last and far from least is Finland’s own JRinne Films in their first entry into The Hit List with Joonas Rinne’s new action sci-fi, Simulated, with Minttu Rinne and Reetta Pöntinen.
