THE SMASHING MACHINE: Dwayne Johnson’s In A World Of Hurt In The First Trailer
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s notoriety in the blockbuster arena is without question. Nonetheless, he’s capable of working different kinds of roles, and director Ben Safdie is out to iterate that fact clear as day with the new MMA drama, The Smashing Machine.
Safdie also wrote and produced the pic in which Johnson dons the role of MMA fighter Mark Kerr, and chronicles Kerr’s rise in the octagon as he battles an opioid addiction that affects his career, as well as his relationship with girlfriend Dawn Staples, played by Emily Blunt.
The poster made its debut on Monday which you can view beneath the trailer below. A24 will release The Smashing Machine in theaters on October 3.
