Roaring Currents trilogy helmer Kim Han-min is already underway with period arena thriller, The Sword: Rebirth Of The Red Wolf. The film has a cast that lists Park Bo-gum, Joo Won, Thanh Tran, Jung Jae-young, Lee Sun-bin, and Kim Hyoung-seo.
The Sword: Rebirth Of The Red Wolf takes place in 668 AD after the fall of Goguryeo, where we meet an amnesiac named Chil-seong (Park), who is forced into a brutal gladiatorial tournament where 16 different tribes —including the Khitan, Mohe, and Göktürks— all compete for the “Sword of Godumak-han”, a legendary relic viewed as a symbol of hope for the displaced Goguryeo people. Mentored by the leader of the restoration movement, Su-gang (Jung), Chil-seong navigates the bloody competition where he eventyally reclaims his identity as a hero.
Production hails from Big Stone Pictures and Blue Fire Studio, and is currently repped on the Cannes sales floor for buyers by Redice Entertainment who are expected to release the film in 2027. In the meantime, peep the sales art below which is going viral this month!
