THE WRATH OF VAJRA Gets A Release Date!

Director Law Wing-Cheong‘s 2-part action adventure reboot, Iceman 3D still has several months left before debuting the first film in China on January 30, 2014, prior to the March release of the sequel. In the meantime, Law‘s upcoming World War 2 fantasy martial arts epic, Media Asia will be treating action filmgoers to his upcoming September 26, 2013 release date for The Wrath Of Vajra.

The report came out on Sunday over at Filmbiz.Asia with a slate of other additional 3D feature films to be released in the coming weeks, including the September 28 release of the sci-fi basketball movie, sci-fi basketball film Amazing, director Tsui Hark’s upcoming fantasy adventure, Young Detective Dee: Rise Of The Sea Dragon on the following day, and the Pang Brothers’ upcoming firefighter thrillers, Out of Inferno, and the Derek Kwok-directed As the Light Goes Out to be released in December.
The Wrath Of Vajra has since been picked up by Well Go USA for North American distribution back in May, with actor and action performer Shi Yanneng starring in his first lead role. Also starring actor Hiroyuki Ikeuchi Zhang YameiTony Liu, international action legend Yasuaki Kurata, actor K-pop performer Steve Yoo, 7-foot tall actor Jiang Baocheng and b-boy dancer Poppin Hyun-joon and was produced by Hong Pang with action choreography by Peng Zhang.

SYNOPSIS:

In the 1930s China, a Japanese cult called The Temple of Hades was ordered to cooperate with the Japanese military, taking as many young children from poor families as possible, to train and turn into lethal killing machines in service of the Emperor. Vajra, who was one of the children taken into captivity, was forced to fight for food, accidentally killing his brother in the process. As the years passed and Vajra grew older, he became one of the temple’s most gifted killers. Vajra eventually escapes to China and joins Shaolin, where he receives spiritual enlightenment and vows to protect China from the minions of the powerful cult that made him as strong and deadly as he is.
