THE NIGHT COMES FOR US: Joe Taslim Is Fightin’ Mad In A New Clip!

Right about now, every MA cinema fan’s favorite five words of late have been manifest into striking new action footage for Macabre and Headshot co-helmer Timo Tjahjanto’s new thriller, The Night Comes For Us. The official website for next month’s 51st Sitges Film Festival is currently host to said footage featuring the ceremonial return of actor Joe Taslim to the screen.

To say this isn’t emotional would be kind of dishonest. The roots of this film’s publicity date back to at least 2012 or 2011 prior to mysteriously going bust in 2014, nearly two years before hope would arise in the form of a casting call on social media signaling its production. It was a delightful surprise and a terrific, prospective way to start a workday and with just days before Tjahjanto’s solo directorial outing hits the festival floor at Fantastic Fest and Sitges.

An ex hit man must protect a young woman while trying to escape from the triad he used to belong to. During his getaway, a violent battle will break out in the streets of Djakarta. After making our hair stand on end in May the Devil Take You, Timo Tjahjanto delivers his second film this season: a hyperbolic urban action movie, essential for any fan of adrenaline.

The exclusive clip over at Sitges presents Taslim (a la co-star Iko Uwais’ fight choreography) like you’ve always enjoyed him – down, dirty and fighting like crazy. The cinematography is defintely something else whilst abstaining from going to Hardcore Henry with the first person gags a la anchored lens behind Taslim’s head. It’s still a fun little gem… and if you’re like me, you already want the remaining two hours of it.

Click here and enjoy before it gets removed. *FYI: If it does get removed, I’m not re-editing this article lest I find myself replacing dead links.
