The first Ultra hero of the Reiwa era is taking the trip across the Pacific, and Mill Creek is driving the boat! ULTRAMAN TAIGA, the 31st Ultra Series production, has been announced for a four disc Blu-Ray package, as well as a digital release. This release also will feature the film ULTRAMAN TAIGA THE MOVIE: NEW GENERATION CLIMAX to make this drop an all-in-one TAIGA experience that’s sure to please neophytes and veterans alike.
Just as exciting to this writer as the announcement of this collection is Mill Creek’s expanded partnership with Tsuburaya, which includes “…digital and physical rights for a full slate of episodic series and feature films from the international powerhouse brand, ULTRAMAN, including many that have not been available in the US previously,” per the press release. Mill Creek has absolutely dominated the tokusatsu space in the west, in this writer’s opinion, with their steady release of quality blu-ray products stretching across decades of Ultra. The dedication that Mill Creek and Tsuburaya seem to have to expanding the Giant of Light’s influence westward has been noticeable to even casual viewers. Just look to the recent release of ULTRAMAN RISING on Netflix; an all original Ultraman animated film, capturing positive reviews from Rotten Tomatoes, IGN, and more. You might also remember that I was quite fond of SHIN ULTRAMAN back in 2022.

This release includes all 25 episodes of the show, and the feature film, with Japanese audio and English subtitles. The physical release includes bonuses, such as a card for the upcoming ULTRAMAN CARD GAME, which I am very excited for, and a 12 page booklet containing information about the episodes, characters, and kaiju in the show/film.

The deal includes digital and physical rights for a full slate of episodic series and feature films from the international powerhouse brand, ULTRAMAN, including many that have not been available in the US previously.
In Ultraman Taiga: The Complete Series, Earth has been infiltrated by aliens – a fact only known by a handful of people. Hiroyuki Kudo works for E.G.I.S. (Enterprise of Guard and Investigation Service), a private organization dealing with alien incidents and trying to keep the peace. Unknown to Hiroyuki, the Ultra Hero Ultraman Taiga’s particles of light are hidden within his body. A new story begins when Ultraman Taiga awakens from Hiroyuki’s body!
Also included in this Blu-ray and digital release is Ultraman Taiga The Movie: New Generation Climax. In the film, we find our hero Hiroyuki Kudo continuing his work with E.G.I.S using his newly discovered power to transform into 3 Ultra Heroes – Taiga, Titas, and Fuma. Battling and defeating many enemies together, the bond between Hiroyuki and Taiga has deepened. However, someone has been targeting Hiroyuki! The New Generation Heroes – Sho, Daichi, Gai, Riku, Katsumi, Isami, and even Taiga’s father Ultraman Taro – come together to save him, and must now stand together to confront a bigger, darker power!
