1987: BLOOD OF THE BAT Dares To Unleash Its Fangs On Gotham!
Director and producer James Campbell is ramping up another round of comic book crossover thrills over at Indiegogo with independently-produced fan flick, 1987: Blood Of The Bat. A new four-minute proof-of-concept is now running online to showcase what lies ahead for the project, which aims rightly towards its darker, grittier, R-rated approach as Campbell did for its fan-induced award-winning predecessor, 1986: Batman & Punisher, which is currently available on YouTube.
We always wanted to come back and do another BATMAN fan film – but it would always depend on what type of story we would want to make… we now have one – and we’re very excited for you all to see it!
“1986” was a neon, action short film, heavily influenced by John Carpenter and the early works of Michael Mann and James Cameron… as well as an obvious love of Frank Miller’s THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.
With “1987: BLOOD OF THE BAT” we’re going down a darker path with the sole aim of making a kick-ass Horror/Action short film that will hopefully blow people away…
Who doesn’t want to see BATMAN kill some VAMPIRES!!!
For this, we get Lee A. Charles (Avengement, Gangs Of London) in the cape and cowl once more and now treading the hellish streets of Gotham as bloodsucking vampires run amuck. The cast is listed further over at the film’s Indiegogo page which in part lists Mark Griffin reprising his role as the Punisher, and Campbell’s Tiger King actor Paul London in the role of Nightwing, and more, with Geoff Woodman also back to produce.
Watch the brooding and violent proof of concept in the player atop the page and then head over to Indiegogo to learn more about Campbell’s vision, how to donate and the perks available!
