A FIGHTING CHANCE: TKO Fast-Tracks Pre-Production On New Martial Arts Drama For 2027 Start Date
Oklahoma-based independent film label TKO Productions is ramping up development with new action drama, A Fighting Chance. The film reteams actor and martial artist Braden D. White with director David H. Ferguson following past TKO collaborations on films Dark Deal, and Double Cross.
A Fighting Chance follows Joshua (White), a troubled martial artist who ventures into brutal underground fighting circuit to save his uncle’s debt-ridden dojo. When tragedy strikes, Joshua wages war on a ruthless loan shark to protect his family and honor his mentor.
White, who also makes his co-directing debut on the film, will be joined by Ron Buchanan, Nick Kubicek, Mackinzae Nester, Kelli Wilson, and Renae Barr.
The move comes as TKO delays production on a feature adaptation of Skin Circuit, Marcus Pruitt’s 2020 shortfilm actioner for which White and Ferguson launched crowdfunding efforts last year.
“We at TKO Productions pride ourselves in being able to make quality action films with little to no budget,” said the leadership team at TKO Productions. “With that comes taking our time and not rushing our films to completion. We have decided to hit the pause button on Skin Circuit because we need a bit more time to make sure our remaining scenes hit as hard as we need them to in order for this film to make the impact that we want.”
“We have an opportunity to produce A Fighting Chance, a film that requires less prep and fewer locations, which means less time to produce,” the team added. “Production on Skin Circuit will resume in Spring 2027. Thank you all for your continued support.”
Casting announcements, behind-the-scenes updates, and production stills will be released across TKO Productions’
official social media channels in the coming weeks. Principal photography on the film is slated to officially resume in Spring 2027.
