Acclaimed Wild In Blue director Matthew Berkowitz will be stirring the pot at the American Film Market this week with a project fresh from its German premiere at Oldenberg Film Fest this summer. For this, we turn to his newest venture, A Violent Man with NFL running back-turned-actor Thomas Q. Jones, primed with several film and television credits under his belt and now in a starring role to boot.
Ty is a little known MMA fighter until a viral video reveals him beating the undefeated world Champion in a local gym. Ty is suddenly a murder suspect when the reporter covering his story is found dead, but why kill the journalist who would make him a legend?
TriCoast Worldwide is at AFM this week repping the new murder mystery drama which also stars Isaac de Bankolé, Chuck Liddell, Bruce Davison and Denise Richards. A first official trailer is already online under its previous title, Choke Hold, which clearly means this one will likely get reset to private or removed prior to a new trailer in due time. Until then, at least the current one gives you a proper visual into Jones’s current craft. It also goes a little too much on the choking so I reckon a new trailer will remedy that.
