My first introduction to actor Tommy “Tiny” Lister was when I was much younger with the 1989 flick, No Holds Barred. I was a fan then, and the actor has stayed busy ever since then, working on a number of film and TV projects throughout his career, including even appearing opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme in Roland Emmerich’s 1992 thriller, Universal Soldier, and the first and second installments of the Friday Franchise opposite lead actor Ice Cube.
Pacific Palisades, CA / ACCESSWIRE / June 9, 2014 / What started out as a single title acquisition agreement at the Cannes Film Festival, has since grown into a six-picture distribution pact between Paseo Miramar Studios and Hannover House, Inc. (OTC: HHSE), the company announced today. The action-thriller, “American Justice” will lead a slate of new productions that Hannover House will represent for distribution into all applicable media in North America. Six initial titles from Paseo Miramar are expected over the first eighteen months of the agreement, with annual options to continue the venture indefinitely. Hannover House is a leading U.S.A. producer and distributor of independent films, books and entertainment products.
“American Justice” is a non-stop action-thriller that will hit video sell-thru and rental shelves this fall from Hannover House. Action star Tommy “Tiny” Lister (“Next Friday”, “The Fifth Element”) portrays an L.A. police officer who finds himself as the fall-guy in a web of small town corruption lead by a redneck sheriff, played by an engagingly sinister John Schneider (“The Dukes of Hazzard”). James Russo (“DJango Unchained”, “Donnie Brasco”) portrays FBI Special Agent Cobb. The film was shot in and around Prague, Oklahoma, and features an abundance of shoot-outs, car chases and explosions throughout the film.
“American Justice” is a 2014 production written by Jerry Bryant, Tommy Lister and Demetrius Navarro, and directed by Navarro. Producers are Bryant and Navarro along with Enrico Natale and Dustin Willy Wilson. Production services were provided by Icon Studios (Dallas) under contract to Paseo Miramar. The multi-title distribution pact was initiated at the recent Cannes Film Festival and Marche du Film, and the final agreement was negotiated by Fred Shefte, on behalf of Hannover House, with Edwin Licona and Jerry Bryant on behalf of Paseo Miramar Studios.
Under the terms of the multi-picture pact with Hannover House, Paseo Miramar will deliver between four and six new productions during the initial eighteen months, all of which will be distributed in the USA and Canada by Hannover House. The slate of current and planned productions is impressive and commercial.
“We are very excited to be working with Jerry Bryant, Edwin Licona and the entire Paseo Miramar team,” said Fred Shefte, President of Hannover House. “There was a lot of interest at Cannes in ‘American Justice’ and the other Paseo Miramar projects they were presenting. As we described our new Hannover House – Medallion Releasing strategy to them, the dialogue began to move away from a single title venture into a long-term affiliation between our companies. Paseo Miramar will be the first of several key programming suppliers that will be providing release continuity for the enhanced distribution activities that Hannover House is implementing with our new V.P. of Sales, Tom Sims.”
Hannover House will be pursuing major retail sell-thru and rental accounts for the Q3 release of “American Justice,” including Walmart, Redbox, Best Buy and Netflix. The film’s release will be supported with a major consumer campaign including targeted advertising, internet banners and social media. Hannover House feels that “American Justice” appeals to a broad marketplace of movie consumers as well as to the large, core audience for urban-action films.
Existing, key retail accounts for Hannover House consumer packaged products include Walmart Stores, Inc., Redbox, Netflix, Barnes & Noble and thousands of independent video retailers, schools, libraries and booksellers. The company also sells entertainment products to a wide range of internet sites, and services most major video-on-demand portals. The company has been profitable for each of the past eighteen quarters, and feels that the 2014 and 2015 new activities will significantly increase both revenues and bottom line results. Hannover House stock is currently traded on the OTC Markets under ticker symbol: HHSE.
