Rajamouli’s RRR is getting a much-needed re-release in the U.S. for anyone looking to catch one of this year’s biggest Indian blockbusters for the first time on the big screen, or once more for a second serving. Variance Films and Potentate Films are partnering up with distributor Sarigama Cinemas for a “last chance” one-night only limited theatrical screening in over 100 select theaters across the United States on June 1. Biblical Epic THE BOOK OF CLARENCE, A Nod To Jeymes Samuel’s ‘The Harder They Fall’ Is In The Works

Jeymes Samuel (a.k.a. “The Bullitts”) is moving forward with Biblical epic, The Book Of Clarence, which will star Lakeith Stanfield (Death Note, Sorry To Bother You). The film rejoins the two following Samuel’s hit Netflix Western, The Harder They Fall, in which Stanfield portrays Cherokee Bill, a member of the notorious gang led by outlaw Rufus Buck, played by Idris Elba in the film. Plot details are under wraps, but according to a new interview over at Deadline on Monday, Samuels notes the film follows up from an easter egg in The Harder They Fall in a key dialogue moment where the Nat Love gang regroups with legendary sheriff Bass Reeves to confront Buck who was since pardoned for his crimes, forcefully retreived from a Yuma-bound prison transport and re-settled in Redwood City. Actor and martial artist Wang Baoqiang (Kung Fu Killer, Rising Shaolin: The Protector) is currently en route with his second turn at the helm with In The Octagon (a Google translation reads the characters via Chinese media reports as “In The Octagonal Cage”). Wang’s In The Octagon centers on a coach’s efforts to train local orphans to become professional fighters in Chengdu, China. The film takes its cues from a real-life story back in 2017 when Chengdu-based Endo MMA, a gym reportedly launched in 2001 by a former police officer who is Tibetan, with the intended purpose of keeping young orphans away from a life of crime, instead drew controversy following the release of a viral video shortfilm documenting the fighting, which led to an investigation of the club. Malaysian filmmaker Syamsul Yusof has been on the climb with local hits like actioners KL Gangster 1 & 2, KL Gangster spin-off Abang Long Fadil and horror thrillers Munafik 1 & 2 to name a few. Indeed though, he’s got a third canon installation of KL Gangster on the way but not for staking his claim with the long-awaited release of period action drama, Mat Kilau, starring Adi Putra in the title role. Agent Agni is on a mission to stop human trafficking and change the world. What will happen when she comes face-to-face with Rudraveer, who is equally strong-willed? Don Lee Set To Reprise His Role In Third Outing For THE OUTLAWS Cop Thriller Franchise, Fourth And More Also In The Works

Multiple Korean news outlets are reporting that a third follow-up to Kang Yoon-sung’s 2017 cop thriller vehicle, The Outlaws, is well on the way with a forth installment already in development. Lee Sang-yong, who directed the second film, The Roundup, will rejoin his star to helm the pic which is currently slated for a 2023 release. Partial casting details reported by Maeil Business Newspaper’s Han Hyun-jung further include Lee Jun-hyuk (Baseball Girl, Along With The Gods 1 & 2), Munetaka Aoki (Rurouni Kenshin franchise), Lee Beom-su (The Divine Move, Unfinished), and Kim Min-jae (Unstoppable, The Battleship Island). Johnson will direct from his own script with actress Olga Kurylenko (Quantum Of Solace, Black Widow, Sentinelle) starring in the title role. The Immortal Wars indie sci-fi action saga director Joe Lujan’s got a smaller project going these days with webseries, Reign. The mini-series was created by Christian Larson who stars along with Ming Zhao, where two strangers find themselves trapped in a dystopian underground fight circuit headed by the New World Order. The mini-series is designed as a virtual comic book-style display which you can view vertically on your mobile devices and is currently avaliable on YouTube in five episodes so far as of this write-up. Also starring are Amy Lyndon, Caitlin Dechelle, Jay Hieron, Chelsea Goldsmith, Chris Cortez, Spidey Turner, Michael Krause and Stu Chaiken, with action sequences by Mike Chat.

PALIDO: Kellan Lutz Action Thriller Heads To Cannes With Key Sales Art For Premiere

Actor Kellan Lutz will star in writer/director Javier Reyna’s new action thriller, Palido. Further casting is already underway with L.A.-based Premiere Entertainment Group announcing the pic this week with sales art to present at next week’s Cannes market repping worldwide sales. Lutz, whose credits partly include The Twilight saga, Extraction, The Legend Of Hercules, Java Heat and The Expendables 3, will play an attorney with a military past who hunts down the gang that killed his wife and brother, and took his daughter. Act helmer Han Jong-hoon is back for only his second turn at the helm with none other than Female Tazza star Jung Hye-in with action crime thriller, Hidden. A poster and trailer have been making the rounds for a few days now with an undated May 2022 release in tow and I’m obliged to share these on this platform as we’re all part of the film’s target audience, obviously. And for this, we get Jung shredding her long-flowing locks for a shorthair look and brandishing a tough-as-nails air with screenfighting caliber to match. Here, she plays an NIS international drug unit member who dives right into the underworld in search of an elusive crimeboss. The film also stars Kong Hyung-jin (Roman Holiday) and Kim In-kwon (The Cursed: Dead Man’s Prey).

You’re forgiven if Choi Yong-min’s (or “Yongminne’s”) 2020 feature debut, Action Dongja, somehow slipped from under your POV. It did for me, unfortunately, though less so for anyone who managed to check out the film during 2020’s Bucheon festivities that summer and the Yubari crowd a year later, among others. Fast forward two years later and the film has since pushed some poster art and at least two trailers, one of which you can catch above. As for what this is all about? I credit Yoon Jong-bin’s 2014 period adventure, Kundo, for my own discovery of actor Ma Dong-seok. It’s been terrific seeing some of his regional work, and being around for his career growth of late from relatively known Korean movie star to a burgeoning international hitmaker now starring in Marvel movies and circling Stallone projects. Who knows how long it’ll be before Ma gets there though? Of course, his progression has only made it easier having coined the stage name, Don Lee for Western adaptability, and with that, his posterity remains with prospective films like the impending The Outlaws sequel, Lee Sang-yong’s The Roundup, which is due out in South Korea from the 18th, and in Hong Kong SAR as of the 26th. DAY LABOR Trailer: Migrants Fight For Survival Against Menacing Border Game Hunters

Ellis Frazier (Repeater) is now two-for-two this week, presenting a look at border crime thriller, Day Labor, which stars Roberto Sanchez, Louis Mandylor and Amy Johnston, and with actor Corin Nemec voicing over exactly the kind of seething villain that feels so prevalent and timely as the film does in whole. The narration definitely doesn’t let up on the ugliness. A Latino American veteran who seeks work as a day laborer in order to keep his family afloat. A regular day turns into a deadly game of survival when he is mistakenly dropped off at a private ranch in El Paso, Texas to be hunted for sport. Also starring are Kevin Gage, David Fernandez Jr., Denitza Garcia, Megan Henry, Armando Zamarripa and Gary Cairns. The film is produced by David Wach and Ojan Missaghi whose Toric Films will be present at the upcoming Cannes Film Market for buyers.

Meet Malay Warrior MAT KILAU In The First Poster And Character/BTS Reels

Crossing over to Malaysia for bit, we’ve got a handful of behind-the-scenes character reels and an official poster for Mat Kilau, the latest from director Syamsul Yusof who is best known for the first and second KL Gangster action thrillers, as well as the award-winning horror Munafik and its 2018 sequel. Production actually took place roughly four years ago and from a few online reads, it wasn’t an easy shoot. According to Yusof himself, Studio Kembara reseached the legendary hero for two years and eventually tried its own incarnation of “Mat Kilau” but failed to make headway with just fifty percent of it completed. When Yusof was tapped to take over the project, he suggest a redo with his own touch, and from that point on, production still hit a few snags, sans details.
