Director Matt Mitchell’s 2017 thriller, The Rizen, now has a successor with The Facility, coming this week from Uncork’d Entertainment. Harriet Madeley, Michael Fatogun, Sarine Sofair, Kevin Leslie, Sophie Miller, Marcus Bronzy, James Barnes, Lewis Saunderson, Clarice Burton, Connor Williams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Sally Phillips, Adrian Edmondson, Stephen Marcus, Laurence Kennedy, Jenny Lathan, and Carol Cleveland star. In 1955, NATO and the Allied Forces conducted secret, occult experiments in a bid to win the Arms Race. They succeeded, but what they unleashed almost tore our world apart. Now a group of young urban explorers and a private military unit could become the final pieces in a 60-year plan to reopen a door that should have stayed closed. If director Matthew Vaughn gets his way, the Kingsman franchise will have at least seven more films as well as a TV series on its slate. The first official teaser trailer is now out for Mikahil Red’s new action thriller, Arisaka. Variety’s Naman Ramachandran brought the exclusive Sunday evening with a first look at the new pic from the Block Z and Neomanila director, with word of its completion following what Red notes as a challenging shoot, due to Typhoon Vamco last month, on top of restrictions thanks to the onset of the current global pandemic which forced a temporary delay during production. In “Arisaka,” a policewoman must retrace the trail of the Bataan Death March, a forcible transfer of some 60,000 American and Filipino prisoners of war by the Imperial Japanese army during WWII, in order to escape her captors. The film is named after a World War II Japanese bolt-action rifle. Director Lee Eung-bok’s (Mr. Sunshine, Goblin: The Lonely and Great God, Descendants of the Sun) new action horror series now has a trailer streaming as Sweet Home looks to unveil its thrills full-tilt beginning December 18. I actually find the concept here pretty intriguing – used in at least one form or another in previous films and TV shows, it’s all about the execution, and this looks exciting. It’s also great to see No Mercy star Lee Si-young again. MORTAL KOMBAT Confirms Day-And-Date Release Among Studio Slate For 2021

I’ve been hard up for the longest for anything related to Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat, but the latest look here at the official logo is certainly appetizing in the least. The graphic appeared for the first time on Thursday in a new promo announcing the studio’s entire 17-title 2021 slate would all get day-and-date releases, with HBO Max premiering the movies on the same day as their theatrical releases. The film recently wrapped additional photography and was subsequently delayed as the pandemic crisis continues to worsen across the U.S., and reports this week also provided earlier insight that the studio did consider an HBO Max release.
