TAKE BACK: Don’t Miss The Official Sales Trailer For Gillian White’s Lead Entry Into The Action Arena!
Screenrant unveiled the official international sales trailer for Christian Sesma‘s new movie, Take Back. Placing actress Gillian White front and center of her action star husband Michael Jai White who co-stars, the film is currently repped in the market circuit by 101 Films who recently sold North American distribution rights to Shout! Factory for a 2021 release. Zara (Gillian White) and Brian (Michael Jai White) are living the perfect small town life when a mysterious stranger from Zara’s secret past kidnaps their daughter and now they must race to save her life. The film also stars Mickey Rourke, Paul Sloan, Jessica Uberuaga and James Russo, and was one of the first independent films to be completed in the US during the Covid-19 pandemic. The trailer above was actually leaked from 101’s official website before hand. Alas, it’s here, at least officially. Enjoy!
RED PROPHECIES Scores A March 5 Release From ITN Distribution
ITN Distribution has stepped up and acquired North American rights to Alexander Nevsky’s new action-thriller, Red Prophecies for a select theatrical release on March 5. Nevsky is joined by Michael Madsen, Casper Van Dien, Eric Roberts, Oded Fehr and Stephen Baldwin from a script by Alexander Izotov. The film centers on an American journalist working in Moscow wh9 finds himself embroiled in dangerous political games, the purpose of which is to destabilize the situation in Russia and then interfere with the holdings of the Presidential elections in the United Stares. Nevsky also exec produced the film through his Hollywood Storm banner. ITN Distribution president Stuart Alson negotiated the deal along with Nevsky on behalf of the filmmakers.

SPECIAL AGENT: Stuntman Shin Jae-Myung’s Feature Directing Debut Lands A Trailer
Hat tip to City On Fire via HanCinema with a trailer for Special Agent, from stuntman-turned-director Shin Jae-myung. The film is slated for a local release on November 19 and stars Bad Guys: Reign Of Chaos actors Lee Jae-yoon, Gong Jung-hwan and Kim Kang-il. The film sees Lee in the role of an NIS agent who sets off on a mission to lead men to eliminate VIPs developing weapons of mass destruction in North Korea. Shin’s background in martial arts and action direction includes Gangnam Blues, Choi Min-sik starrer The Admiral: Roaring Currents, Min Kyu Dong’s The Treacherous, and Lee Han’s A Melody To Remember.
MORTAL KOMBAT Producer: ‘No Release Date Or Trailer Until Theaters Re-Open’
I wasn’t sure if it be good rapport on my part to even post about this, but it’s become even more clearer that the new Mortal Kombat movie will not arrive on January 15, 2021 as expected. The film was previously dated for March 5 next year and moved up as casting and production news made the rounds for the Adelaide shoot that currently marks commerical director Simon McQuoid’s feature debut at the helm. “Well, I thought by the casts’ social media you would’ve figured out we’re shooting a few more days.” says producer Todd Garner to a fan via Twitter. “We’d always planned for it & thought we’d do it in March. The pandemic had other plans. We won’t have a release date for the movie until theaters re-open. NEVER BACK DOWN: REVOLT Signals Fourth In The Franchise From ‘The Gate’ Director
Twelve years since Jeff Wadlow left his footprint in the MMA subgenre of action films with Never Back Down, the film that spawned a raft of direct-to-DVD films shepherded by Michael Jai White is now in the hands of Kellie Madison for her contribution, Never Back Down: Revolt, according to a Deadline exclusive on Tuesday. Never Back Down: Revolt centers on a woman (Olivia Popica, Informer, Retribution) who is kidnapped and forced to compete in elite underground fights and has to battle her way out to freedom. Madison will direct from a script by Audrey Arkins (Elyse) for Mandalay Pictures, Wonder Street and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions. Production is set to start November 23 in and around London. NEW YORK WILL EAT YOU ALIVE Casts Colin Firth For ‘Zombie Brothers’ Adaptation From STX And Tencent
Colin Firth is set to star in the tentatively titled action comedy, New York Will Eat You Alive. STXfilms and Tencent Pictures’ jointly announced the project this week with Todd Strauss-Schulson (Final Girls) attached direct from a screenplay by Alex Rubens with current revisions by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. The film is based on Jia Haibo’s Tencent digital comic hit, Zombie Brothers, which accrued more than 28 billion views over 516 episodes, and more than 3.7 billion views across its first two seasons since 2011. The franchise has also been adapted into a popular stage play, which had a record-breaking run of sold out shows across the region. DUTCH: Lance Gross Stars In New Crime Thriller Coming November 27
True To The Game and This Christmas helmer Preston A. Whitmore II is setting forth in 2020 with his newest crime drama, Dutch. A Manny Halley Production has unveiled a second trailer with a Novembet 27 select theatrical release in the works, with a cast headlined by Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne actor Lance Gross. Turning toward actor Bruce Willis for a moment, his latest sci-fi thriller, Breach, is out and about with its official trailer from Saban Films. John Suits directed the pic from a script by Edward Drake and Corey Large. Bruce Willis stars in the action-packed, si-fi thriller. Fleeing a devastating plague on Earth, an interstellar ark comes under attack from a new threat; a shape-shifting alien force intent on slaughtering what is left of humanity. Large also produced the pic with Danny Roth, with Thomas Jane, Rachel Nichols and Cody Kearsley also starring. Saban Films will release Breach in select theaters and on VOD from December 18.

Readying what looks to be a December 18 select theatrical and on-demand release from Well Go USA, the official U.S. trailer is now streaming online for action adventure sci-fi, Max Cloud. Martin Owen (Killers Anonymous) directs from a script he co-wrote with Sally Collett, for a cast led by actress Isabelle Allen (Les Misérables, Killers Anonymous), and starring actor and martial artist Scott Adkins (Ip Man: The Finale) in the title role for his latest turn at comedy as well. SAIGON BODYGUARDS Is Getting A Remake Starring Chris Pratt And Wu Jing For Universal Pictures
Chris Pratt (Guardians Of The Galaxy/MCU, upcoming The Tomorrow War) and Wu Jing (Wolf Warrior franchise) are teaming up to headline a reimagining of Ken Ochiai’s 2016 action comedy, Saigon Bodyguards, for Universal Pictures. Thai Hoa and Kim Ly starred in the original film which was produced by Rhomhus Media and CJ Entertainment, and focused on two pals – polar opposites working as professional bodyguards who are assigned to protect a rich brat, only for the job to go completely downhill.
