A raw and unapologetic look into a police shooting, racism, and the connections they share. Without stating that we know the answers, but not being afraid to ask the direct questions. While on duty, Detective Pearce shoots and kills a black teenager. During the criminal trial, Pearce is found not guilty. Despite his acquittal, Pearce’s personal life deteriorates as he uses booze and self-pity to cope. Tom Paton’s BLACK OPS Climbs The Stairway To Terror In The Official U.S. Trailer

Black Site director Tom Paton has seen his share of festival runs in the past year following the Arrow Video FrightFest premiere of his new thriller, Stairs. Fast forward to 2020 with all respective deals signed thusfar, such is the case for Samuel Goldwyn Films who’ve stamped a VOD release sometime in June along with an official U.S. trailer for its U.S. release title, Black Ops. Updates to follow. Follow a black ops team who find themselves trapped in a terrifying, never-ending stairwell. Forced to climb or die, the group soon come face to face with their past sins in a desperate fight for survival. Paton directs from his own script. He rejoins with Black Site cohorts Bentley Kalu, Samantha Schnitzler and Toby Osmond, with Shayne Ward, Rachel Warren and Simon Meacock also starring.

CRY HAVOC Wreaks Terror This May From Midnight Releasing

Following his 2017 overture with Playing With Dolls: Havoc, director Rene Perez returns in-line with another for horror sequel, Cry Havoc. He’s joined by action star facsimile Robert Bronzi (Death Kiss, Once Upon a Time in Deadwood), Richard Tyson (Kindergarten Cop), Emily Sweet, and JD Angstadt, for the film’s May 5 on-demand release from Midnight Releasing. An ambitious young reporter is granted an interview with one of the FBI’s most wanted. While entering his compound she finds one of his prized possessions, a serial killer who murders at call, called HAVOC. Her only hope is a rogue police man searching for his daughter.

Amasia’s THE GREEN HORNET AND KATO Revs Up At Universal

Four years since Paramount Pictures took the reins with Gavin O’Connor a likely prospect, LA-based Amasia Entertainment snagged the rights for a film all their own based on legendary pulp hero, The Green Hornet.That IP now has new life as Green Hornet and Kato, with word from the trades on Amasia’s newly-etched partnership with Universal Pictures. Both parties are reportedly eyeing a global franchise with Amasia’s Michael Helfant and Bradley Gallo producing, currently in search of writers. George W. Trendle and Fran Striker first launched the character on radio in 1936 with actor Van Williams transitioning the character on screen by the 1960s – a playboy/media mogul and owner of The Daily Sentinel, Britt Reid. Shot Caller star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will soon get his day in North America with Saban Films snagging Robin Pront’s latest, The Silencing. The actor is joined by Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy, Peaky Blinders) and Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), with Pront directing from a script by Micah Ranum. The Silencing follows a reformed hunter living in isolation on a wildlife sanctuary who becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local Sheriff set out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago. The film would have had its Midnighters debut at SXSW were it not for the Covid-19 epidemic. Phillip Barantini’s directorial debut, Villain, was acquired by Saban Films for its U.S. release at some point and now we have an official trailer, and a date now set for digital and VOD beginning May 22. After being released from prison, ex-con Eddie Franks (Craig Fairbrass) wants nothing more than to start a new life. However, his dreams of normalcy are tested when he learns of his brother’s dangerous debt to a menacing drug lord. To protect his family, Eddie is forced to go back to his former life of crime and learns that stepping back into this world can have devastating consequences in this action-packed thriller. Rounding out the cast are George Russo, Izuka Hoyle, Mark Monero, Tomi May, Eloise Lovell Anderson, Taz Skylar, Nicholas Aaron, Michael John Treanor, Marcus Onilude, Robert Glenister.

Going forward, we now have a look at new martial arts thriller, Unleashed, fresh out of the mainland and headed for an April 19 streaming date exclusively on IQIYI. Starring Sun Feng Zhen, Ken Low, Zheng Zi Peng and Sam Lee, the film follows an underground boxer out to settle the score with his master’s rival, a former champion fresh out of prison and looking for retribution. Produced by Paco Wong and Jil Wong, Unleashed also stars Venus Wong, Chui Tien You CHUI, Wiyana Yeung, with actor Chris Collins (Wolf Warrior, Paradox, Ip Man 4: The Finale) switching it up this time around as fight choreographer.

Here’s a fact worth facing: Covid-19 isn’t a hoax. Want another fact?… Were it not for this disease spreading throughout the world and killing thousands of people, filmmakers like Ranjeet S. Marwa would already be closer to the start of his own latest endeavor, Blood Rush. Already having to scale back on that prospect, he’s moved onto another with independent documentary, Covid-19: The Impact On Asian Cinema, and even throwing in a bloody new poster, which, to say the least, speaks some truth as to the leaders of the world like Agent Orange who’ve enabled this crisis so needlessly. Martial Club Confirms Team’s Feature Film Plans Are In Active Development

Martial Club is still proliferating their brand in the fields of martial arts, health and wellness, stunts and action cinema. To date, they’re still committed to their YouTube audience while working on their own endeavors, which no less includes their very own feature film. Team member Andy Le announced the project in November 2018, as a declaration to unilaterally grow and evolve toward making their own opportunities happen. “Martial arts action cinema was the platform that inspired me to do martial arts. Below you’ll see a select set of stills, including a few of which I’m happily debuting on this platform as Black continues to grow his latest idea into hopeful fruition. All things relevant to plot and character details are under wraps but the project is best described as “a contemporary martial arts piece cosigning his love for classic jidaigeki cinema and anime”. If you’re not yet keen on Tubi, it’s a free ad-supported streaming service that contains a plethora of films and TV shows. It’s of a certain variety and the titles rotate but the line-up is always great depending on your tastes, and it never runs out of martial arts content. Art School Dropouts will take to their platforms this weekend to host The In-House Grindhouse, an interactive livestream to showcase a trio of short-duration film blocks host to independent filmmakers around the web, spanning different genres. The New Jersey-based film troupe made the announcement just over a few weeks ago for a call to entries stamped for an April 5 deadline. Seeing how the production industry is taking a big hit during this outbreak, we wanted see if we could help promote other content creators during quarantine.
