KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS Lands A Final Trailer

The count down continues tor director Travis Knight’s Kubo And The Two Strings with releases set for August and September in the U.S. and U.K., respectively. Before then, we now have a final trailer making the rounds showcasing Knight’s stop-motion feats at the forefront a la his Laika production banner. SYNOPSIS: Kubo and the Two Strings is an epic action-adventure set in a fantastical Japan from acclaimed animation studio LAIKA. TOKYO GHOUL Goes Live-Action For The Big Screen Next Year

Recently there have been murmurs of a live-action adaptation of a Sui Ishida’s 2011 Weekly Shonen Jump manga, Tokyo Ghoul. Well, it turns out word is true and music video and commercial director Kentaro Hagiwara will helm the movie as his feature debut. Kentaro will be joined by Death Note TV series star Masataka Kubota who will play the lead role of Ken Kaneki, a college student whose newfound abilities following a brush of near death with Rize, a Ghoul among many feeding off flesh and living among other humans, forces him to come to terms with the two lives now shares as a half-ghoul while battling both Ghouls and the government forces aimed at wiping them out. Pan Anzi's FOR A FEW BULLETS Gets A U.S. And Canada Release From China Lion

China Lion is officially bringing Pan Anzi’s slick new neo-western 1930’s action adventure, For A Few Bullets, to select cities in the U.S. and Canada on July 22 Starring Zhang Jingchu, Kenny Lin, Liu Xiaoqing, Vivian Dawson, Tengger and Kenneth Tsang, the film centers on a beautiful government agent and a conman forced to work together to protect an Imperial seal from the Japanese military. #AskDusk Introduces You To The S3 Cast Of El Rey's FROM DUSK TIL DAWN: THE SERIES

El Rey Network’s From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series casts an increasingly compelling spotlight on the intertwining world of the culebra underground; Essentially, we’ve been provided a vast mythology that more than lives beyond the limitations of the 1995 feature film from which the show itself was sprung, and the show, developed by Robert Rodriguez, has spoken for itself ever since with its renewal as of late last year. As such, season three still has a premiere date pending, but if you’ve seen the show, you pretty much have an idea about what’s going to happen and how it affects some of our children characters, both new and returning. For further insight however, El Rey has been releasing cast featurettes stemming from the production, including segments by D.J. Extended New SUPER BODYGUARD Trailer Goes Full Contact!

Call the film what you will at this point, but the narrative is mostly clear on actor and filmmaker Yue Song’s latest sophomore outing, Super Bodyguard. Here, Song leads the cast from his own script which sees a young and gifted martial artist forced to adhere to his skillset following his journey to reunite with his fellow apprentice in the wake of their master’s death. Also starring are Collin Chou with Shi Yanneng and Jiang Baocheng, the latter two reuniting three years since their 2013 bout in Law Wing-Cheong’s The Wrath Of Vajra, which feels like pretty hefty casting for someone who has only done two movies. Sonakshi Sinha Asserts Her Dominance In The New Trailer For AKIRA

Director A.R. Murugadoss’s remake of the 2011 Tamil film, Mouna Guru, has since arrived in the form of the new Hindi action thriller, Akira which opens on September 2. For this, we get Bullet Raja co-star, actress Sonakshi Sinha leading the way in a gender-swapped role that sees a young, misunderstood arts student whose penchant for trouble follows her to her new life in Mumbai where she unwittingly gets swept into a plot involving corrupt cops. Sinha reportedly trained for several months prior to, as well as during production last Spring. As such, the first full trailer shows the exact result of that with some nifty wirework and action sequencing by Anl Arasu who previously worked on Murugadoss’s Kathithi (2014). It’s pretty cool and will undoubtedly lend something worthwile for female audiences and young women in India and abroad. Check it out below!

Watch The Latest Trailer For Indonesian Action Thriller, DPO

Following its development and production in the last few years, the first trailer has arrived for the new crime thriller, D.P.O.. It’s an obvious low budget affair and the CG blood shots make that fact even more painful, but at the core here is the fight action and cinematography which should bode well for those observant of Indonesia cinema. L.M. Belgant directs with a script that sees a ragtag elite team out to take down an elusive criminal kingpin at any cost. ECHOES FROM TUTUS: A Night Out With Actor And Martial Artist David Sakurai

Well, I’m currently recovering from a small injury on the right side of my jaw from Thursday. In the meantime, my holiday weekend was another high-mark for my time as a writer with Saturday night proving quite feasible. As we speak, there are a bunch of stunt performers and actors working on a several projects here in the tri-state area, and it just so happens that Denmark’s own, actor David Sakurai was in town. Directors Longman Leung and Sunny Luk blew moviegoers away with their 2012 hit film, Cold War, a tale of events that would become the ultimate litmus test of the tumultous politics of the Hong Kong Police Department between two leading branches. Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung led the way and carried the film’s superb tone with sheer gravitas and gusto in their performances, and a terrific script by Leung and Luk to keep the intrigue and explosive action going. Go Behind-The-Scenes With These Featurettes For CALL OF HEROES

We’re more than a month and a half away from the release of director Benny Chan’s new film, Call Of Heroes with actors Sean Lau, Louis Koo, Eddie Peng and Wu Jing starring. The trailers have all been outstanding and so there’s no question about the anticipation from fans overall, and thanks in large part to the raft of behind-the-scenes featurettes running online. There are several I’m sharing here and mainly to help whet the appetite some for fans like myself of Sammo Hung who produces and serves as fight choreographer. Peng and Wu are pretty much the center of these videos and they’re pretty fun to watch working together on such a lively set, and separately, I have my own ideas on what their roles may very well be here. It looks good and feels promising long before its release in August. Check them out below!

A small string of shortfilms into his young movie career, actor and director Ben Lettieri is on track to arrive this summer with his latest feature length debut, The Liberator. Boasting a martial arts-infused adventure, the film does have a little bit going for itself with its low-budget status and an adherence to a specific niche. Alas, it deserves a curve of sorts, but a small one.
