STOLEN IDENTITY: FINAL HACKING GAME Teaser And Trailer Revealed For Hideo Nakata’s Cyberthriller Threequel

Director Hideo Nakata is closing his longstanding SNS crime saga later this year with the third and final installment of the Stolen Identity trilogy, Stolen Identity: Final Hacking Game. The official short and long trailers are live from Toho with a November 1 theatrical release set for the film, which takes its cues from Akira Shiga’s 2017 novel. Nakata is rejoined by recurrent screenwriter Tetsuya Oishi, along with franchise actors Yudai Chiba and Ryo Narita in their respective roles of elusive hacker Urano, and the dauntless lawman chasing him, Kagaya. As a new serial killer mystery unfolds with a suspect targeting women with long black hair, the Japanese government is faced with a vicious cyber attack coming from Seoul. Palisades Park Pictures is launching worldwide sales ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) market on the sci-fi thriller, Eyes in the Trees. Alas, it is hours later into Monday with the director now keeping the momentum going with a brand new teaser poster signaling an October 17 launch date on Netflix for upcoming thriller, The Shadow Strays. 3 min. read John Woo’s latest iteration of The Killer is now streaming on Peacock. The film is Woo’s own reimagining of his 1989 Hong Kong action classic with Chow Yun-Fat, Danny Lee and Sally Yeh. I haven’t seen the OG film in ages to draw a comparison for this write-up, but I’m still drawn to speak on its behalf given some of the hate its gotten. A new Variety exclusive is out as of Friday along with a pair of official stills to help announce the completion of upcoming martial arts thriller, The Furious. The Bangkok, Thailand-set production is directed by action specialist Kenji Tanigaki (Enter The Fat Dragon, Sakra) and features a pan-Asian cast including mainland Chinese star Xie Miao, Indonesian star Joe Taslim, and Thai star Jeeja Yanin, along with Yang Enyu, Brian Le, Joey Iwanaga, and Yayan Ruhian. HIGH FORCES Teaser: Andy Lau Tackles Turbulent Terror In The New Oxide Pang Thriller

Hong Kong distro outlet Universe Films has a brisk new teaser for Oxide Pang’s latest solo directorial outing, High Forces. An October release is currently in play with a date TBA in the region and elsewhere as of this post. “Is anyone there? Yes…” A mysterious message from Gao Haojun (starring Andy Lau) came from 10,000 meters in the air. A five-star luxurious A380 airplane was hijacked on its maiden flight. The hijacker Mike (starring Qu Chuxiao) is threatening the lives of all 800 passengers onboard and Gao’s wife (starring Liu Tao) and daughter (starring Zhang Zifeng). Gao, an international security expert, stepped up to deal with the hijackers. Will he be successful save all the passengers and resolve the crisis? Also starring are Guo Xiaodong, and Jiang Mengjie. Fast forward to 2024 and the film is complete and finally on track for a digital release on August 20 from Breaking Glass Pictures, and the long awaited trailer has finally arrived.
