MAN OF TAI CHI Gets The IMAX Treatment

IMAX Corporation has announced that Keanu Reeves‘ martial arts directorial debut, Man Of Tai Chi will play on IMAX screens in select cities on October 24, 2013 in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston and New York. The film is currently available through the VoD market as of September 27, 2013, and features martial artist, actor Tiger Chen in his first lead role for an American audience. The film also stars Reeves along with Karen Mok and Simon Yam, with legendary action master Yuen Woo-Ping directing the fight sequences. Actor Sylvester Stallone took to Twitter to congratulate his fellow all-star cast members of The Expendables 3. The third installment of the franchise began filming in Bulgaria back in August as news of the film’s main cast members began arriving in the country trickled into the media. The production did see some slightly more adventerous turns with viral reports of actor Jason Statham‘s near-death experiences on the set of the film, which were clarified by Stallone and fellow lead Terry Crews since then. Actor Vin Diesel took to Facebook on Monday to celebrate acquring fifty million users on Facebook by posting a new video. Specifically titled “F7 Combat Training”, the footage shows the lead actor of Fast And Furious 7 training with fellow co-star Tony Jaa and David Ismalone, confirming the context drawn by earlier photos taken by the two within the past few days. So, we may indeed see Diesel pulling in some moves of his own with Jaa and Ismalone along for the ride. 47 Ronin Gets More International Push From Japan!

A new international trailer came online this week for the Japanese release of the new action adventure film, 47 Ronin. The film is the latest spin on the classic tale of a small army of samurai out to avenge the death of their master, directed by Carl Rinsch and starring Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Kô Shibasaki, Rinko Kikuchi and Tadanobu Asano. Hey, what better way to tell a story of a past event in your life to your kids? LBP's Nate Hitpas Takes Center Stage With Tony Vittorioso

Independent action filmmaker Emmanuel Manzanares hosted a new fight practice this week with LBP Stunts Chicago member Nate Hitpas (left), and fellow screenfighter Tony Vittorioso (right) both who met each other back in 2009 while attending Sharkey’s Karate in Naperville, Illinois. Hitpas and Vittorioso have been working on a few of these on their own time over the past month or so, but you can now view them on the official LBP YouTube channel in the first two embeds below, the second video being the newest. As a bonus, Hitpas himself has been dabbling a bit in choreography himself, as recent as earlier this month with actor, tricking impressario, martial artist and fellow Sharkey’s head instructor, Micah Karns. Someone upstairs finally went through the trouble of applying some English subtitles to the final trailer for director Prachya Pinkaew‘s upcoming 3D martial arts adventure, Tom Yum Goong 2. Despite being the same footage from over a month ago, at least English speakers can get a closer ear to the overall tone of the dialogue between action star Tony Jaa and the rest of the cast and crew, in addition to the comedic stylings of Petchai Wongkamlao.
