It took a bit of time, but now we have an offiical new trailer for the upcoming October release for director Prachya Pinkaew‘s latest Thai martial arts adventure, Tom Yum Goong 2. Most netizens eager to see footage from the film were more than happy when an unofficial, dim, low-quality, company watermarked trailer was leaked online a few months ago, which may have already spoiled the surprise that awaited fans of Pinkaew’s signature style of Thai action filmmaking. It’s been a few years since we have heard anything follow up from the announcements that the 1988 film, Bloodsport would get a revamp from Relativity Media, to be produced by Edward R. Pressman. Reports are now circulating that James McTeigue will direct helm the film in Austrailia as of Spring 2014, focusing on the life mercenaries who collide with the world of underground Brazilian Vale Tudo fighting, where it is just as what the name means: Anything goes. McTeigue‘s credits include, but are not limited to, the 2009 action adventure, Ninja Assassin, and the 2005 futuristic thriller, V For Vendetta. The film was previously announced back in 2011 with a story by Taken writer Robert Mark Kamen and Salt helmer Phillip Noyce about an American who escapes to Brazil to help deal with the violence in Afghanistan. Well, that didn’t take long, as Universal Pictures just released four new character posters for director Carl Rinsch‘s upcoming fantasy swordplay action adventure, 47 Ronin. The 3D feature film took a few years to make between heavy reshoots and much-needed added shots that ultimately exceeded the film’s budget, so hopefully the film’s delivery will be spectacular enough to woo audiences and make its money back. The film opens in 2D and 3D this Christmas on December 25, 2013, and stars Man Of Tai Chi director and actor Keanu Reeves as an outsider who becomes the last hope of a band of samurai warriors looking to take out a monstrous evil. Donnie Yen Kicks HD Ass In The New Cantonese Trailer Re-Release For SPECIAL ID

Donnie Yen lit this week on fire with his latest new Mandarin-language teaser trailer for Special ID. Now there is a second “uncensored” HD trailer online for Hong Kong audiences, and though there really is no noticeable difference between the two versions, there are only a few audio edit changes, including the removal of the sound that plays when actress Tian Jing points her gun at some poor schmuck’s junk, in addition to Cantonese audio throughout. Other than that, nothing has been added or removed, footage-wise, just the same montage of Yen-flavored MMA-stylized hard-hitting grit and action that we have all come to know and love throughout his career, along with some “personality” to boot. Indeed, it has been a journey for the upcoming Samurai fantasy adventure, 47 Ronin, loosely based on a true story and adapted for the screen by Carl Rinsch in his first time at the helm of a major Hollywood picture. Having had its release date pushed back once before, the overbudgeted Universal Pictures release found itself plagued with reshoots through the summer of 2012 until the studio eventually ended up pulling Rinsch from the project. In Rinsch’s defense, an interview with Hollywood.com revealed stunt coordinator Gary Powell‘s take on what was needed for Rinsch to help create the right blend of fantasy and reality for the action. “It was a quick couple of weeks reshoot, story points and all that,” he said. “It will make the film better. 22 Minutes…that’s approximately the time it took for commandos from the Marshal Shaposhnikov to end a deadly siege with Somali pirates aboard a Moscow University Russian tanker in the Gulf of Aden back in the summer of 2010. The incident has since been adapted for the screen as a contained action thriller by writer Igor Porublev and director Vasily Serikov, and bears some impressive qualities that make the film look like a very interesting sell. 22 Minutes stars lead actor Makar Zaporozhsky, along with Denis Nikiforov, Victor Sukhorukov, Ekaterina Malikova, Gael Kamilindi and Eebra Tooré. According to prior statements made by Man Of Steel star Henry Cavill, a Justice League would not be likely to happen soon unless other films were done to help create the universe to fit the characters. This was particularly the case with The Avengers as it had 2 Iron Man movies, 2 Hulk movies, and initial film installments of Captain America and Thor, both with sequels pending, and largely why The Avengers continues to be so successful.
