COMING ATTRACTIONS: One Hundred (And Twenty-Four) Films To Look Out For In 2024

A new year is almost upon us, and so with that comes a whole new set of priorities. For some of us, that includes tidying up our moviegoing schedules and making room for any possibilities going into the next twelve months. If you’re keen, I’ve went and compiled more than a hundred films (124 to be exact) worth keeping an eye on as we follow the news blurbs along. To add, I ended up throwing in at least twenty-four more as the inspiration took over long before I was done with this list. REACHER: Season Three Of The Hit Amazon Prime Series Is Now Filming

Reacher series creator Nick Santora did the world some serious justice with the season one premiere of the hit show based on the novels by Lee Childs last year. With season two set to kick off its first three episodes on Amazon Prime in the next few weeks, the show is now being primed for a third season already in production according to a new video announcement attached to an extended clip courtesy of series star Alan Ritchson. News of the show’s third season broke at CCXP 2023 in São Paulo, Brazil, as reported by Variety on Saturday. Following the show’s three-part premiere, season two of Reacher will commence with weekly episodes on Fridays through January 19. Read more at Variety.

SALAAR: PART 1 – CEASEFIRE Trailer Sees Prahbas Speaking Softly, And Carrying Bloody Weaponry For The First Chapter

Homable Films is touting its latest effort, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, with an official and extensive new trailer following a teaser rollout back in July. The film teams up leading man Prahbas – star of the upcoming Kalki 2898 A.D. – with director Prashanth Neel who comes off the perpetual success of his two-part period action tête-à-tête, K.G.F., which became a record-breaking box office hit with its second installment last year. Neel directs from his own script a story that chronicles the boyhood friendship that now shapes the present-day tale of a gang leader who vows to protect a friend whos father’s opponents seek to usurp power through violent, militarized means in the city of Khansaar. Prahbas is joined by Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan for the film’s December 22 global release in Telugu with multiple dubs including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

It’s been close to twenty years since German martial arts cinema came out of the woodwork bringing actor and martial artist Mathis Landwehr into the limelight as the star of Johannes Jaeger’s Kampfansage: Der Letzte Schüler, a feature expanded from a pre-existing indie action short concept. Landwehr has still been on radar from time to time in roles for projects like Lasko and Martin-Christopher Bode’s Ultimate Justice over the years, and even in Shawn Bu’s explosive hit fanmade Star Wars short flick, “Darth Maul: Apprentice” to name a few, although it remained to be seen just when exactly the actor would take the reins for a lead role in a new feature. Nearly a year after presenting its first look at actress Chelsea Islan (Headshot, May The Devil Take You franchise) in upcoming Disney+ Hotstar series, Tira, the newest official teaser has now arrived online which you can view below. WARHORSE ONE Gets A Sequel Shoot In 2024

A sequel to Warhorse One is in development, according to information shared on social media via actor Johnny Strong and the film’s official fanpage. The film, tentatively titled “Warhorse Two” as illustrated by current prelim artwork online, will reportedly begin production in the new year with a script by Strong who starred in the first film, as well as co-directed with filmmaker William Kaufman (Daylight’s End, The Channel). Plot details are underwraps for the new film in which Strong will be joined on screen once more by young actress Athena Durner. The two will reprise their roles from the first film – previously released by Well Go USA in the summer – which follows Strong’s character, SEAL Team Leader Richard Mirko as he fights to survive behind enemy lines in Afghanistan with the daughter of a murdered family of missionaries in his care. BLOOD COAST Official French Crime Series Trailer Runs Red With Pulsating Action And Drama

December 6 will see the official premiere of Kamel Guemra’s six-part action-packed crime series, Blood Coast (French title Pax Massilia). Ivan Fegyveres and Olivier Marchal each share directing duties on the hourlong series which hails from production house Gaumont and stars Tewfik Jallab, Jeanne Goursaud, and Nicolas Duvauchelle. As a vicious drug dealer tries to overtake Marseille, a rogue police captain and his daredevil team welcome a new recruit with an agenda of her own. THE TIGER MASK: Kodansha Suits Up With Italian Film Firms For New Live-Action Adaptation Of Hit Manga

Live-action adaptations of popular manga properties will still have their space going forward with an upcoming new take on Kodansha publication, The Tiger Mask. Variety’s Nick Vivarelli reported on Monday the development of the film via Rome-based Fabula Pictures and Brandon Box in Milan, alongside Kodansha. Penned by Ikki Kajiwara and inked by Naoki Tsuji, The Tiger Mask launched in 1968 with the story of Naoto Date, a heel wrestler who, after garnering success in America, returns home inspired and with the hope of becoming a heroic wrestler. That goal becomes par for the course as Date is forced to battle old foes from his former organization, the Tiger’s Den. Universal Developing Fifth BOURNE Film From ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’ Director

The Bourne franchise remains potent according to Deadline’s Justin Kroll who reports that a fifth movie is in-development Universal. Edward Berger, director of the 4x Oscar-winning All Quiet On The Western Front, is up to take the director’s chair. Kroll says that Berger will be the only name attached to the project if a deal goes through. Further announcements are pending on whether or not franchise star Matt Damon, who took the reins for The Bourne Identity, Doug Liman’s 2002 reboot of Roger Young’s 1988 adaptation of the Robert Ludlum novel, will reclaim the starring role. LOST PHOENIX: Check Out The Official Trailer For James Couche’s New Indie Espionage Thriller

Writer/director James Couche is still in post-production on his independently-made feature debut, Lost Phoenix. The action adventure thriller, starring Wan DraL, Eliza Kelley, and David Norton, was filmed during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and hails from Couche’s longstanding independent film banner, Gunsavior Pictures. Set against the backdrop of a major social justice protest gone awry, DraL plays “Joe”, a runaway amnesiac who finds himself dodging ICE agents, heavily armed insurgents and a snipers from the distance as he fights to pursue tips and clues that could bring him closer to remembering his identity. Rocky franchise producer Irvin Winkler confirmed the development of a fourth installment of the Creed saga with Michael B. Jordan at the helm, according to Deadline’s Destiny Jackson. Winkler made the announcement on Saturday during Deadline’s Contenders Film: Los Angeles, telling the audience “We are planning to do Creed IV right now”. A new teaser poster is making the rounds along with several behind-the-scenes featurettes for the latest mystery project out Studio Kembara. The Malay production banner behind the success of director Syamsul Yusof’s record-breaking period action epic, Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan, is yet to divulge explicit details just yet about the film in question, which leaves plenty of room for fans of Yusof’s film to speculate.
