DUCHESS: First Look At Newest Charlotte Kirk Action Thriller Nabbed By Saban For 2024 Release

The first few stills are now out for Neil Marshall’s new action thriller, Duchess. Saban Films has acquired U.S. rights to the pic for a 2024 release, as announced on Thursday by Palisades Park Pictures CEO, Tamara Birkemoe. Starring Charlotte Kirk who also penned the pic with Marshall, Duchess follows no-nonsense Scarlett Monaghan (Kirk) and her rise from a working-class petty criminal to becoming a ruthless organized crime leader in the seedy underbelly of the diamond smuggling circuit of Tenerife. Also starring are Philip Winchester (”Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”), Sean Pertwee (Fox’s “Gotham,” Event Horizon), Colm Meaney (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” Con Air with Nicolas Cage) and Stephanie Beacham (“Dynasty,” “The Colbys”). Choi Dong-hoon is back to bookend his epic alien battle time-jumping saga with CJ ENM’s Alienoid: Part 2. The film continues the adventure with a mix roster of new and returning cast members led by Kim Tae-ri, Kim Woo-bin, and Ryu Joon-yeol, all featured on the newest poster revealed on Wednesday along with the first official teaser trailer. SAMARITAN Sequel In The Works At Amazon

Amazon Prime is prepping another superhero run with a sequel to last year’s Sylvester Stallone headliner, Samaritan, with Stallone starring and producing via Balboa Productions with Braden Aftergood. The hit film will see Stallone reprise his role in the James Avery-directed 2022 action adventure with Bragi F. Schut returning to pen as well as exec produce the sequel alongside Adam Rosenburg. Samaritan joins Stallone with Javon “Wanna” Wallace and Pilou Asbæk in the story of a kid whose obsession with a reclusive neighbor thought to be a superhero twenty years in hiding results in the mysterious man’s re-emergence when an evil crimeboss threatens Granite City. Trailer: HARD DAYS Are Headed For Junichi Okada’s Newest Action Thriller On Netflix!

The Fable franchise and Hell Dogs star Junichi Okada is back for another round of action and thrills headed to Netflix with Hard Days, from director Michihito Fujii and also starring Go Ayano. Fujii directed the script which he wrote with Kenya Hirata, reviving the hit 2014 action thriller directed by Kim Sung-hoon, and following suit from other remakes by Lien Yi-Chi and Lawrence Fajado in 2017. For this, we get Okada back on screen this time for the role of an unscrupulous detective whose life begins to unravel after going to extremes to cover up an accidental killing, only to be hounded by a mysterious figure who claims to know his secret. Toho previously released Hard Days in Japan back in May while Netflix is making its case with a new trailer as of Wednesday to head up the film’s launch on November 30.

I’m of the opinion that the Matrix comparisons are a little overrated when it comes to Victor Ginzburg’s new film, Empire V. It’s the kind of wording that will have people thinking it’s being sold as an action horror flick with some sort of vampire-fu and well…it’s not. Not that I wouldn’t mind this being that kind of film, but it’s worth looking into if you’re curious about cinema and other interpretations of certain subgenres in film. Author Victor Pelevin’s 2006 novel serves as the basis for the latest dark fantasy horror by Ginzburg which happens to include some spur-of-the-moment gymnastics and maybe one particular scene of fight choreography as a nice little cherry on top for the optics in this wide-ranging visual stunner. PENDUKO Stands Strong In The First Teaser Poster For The New Live-Action Filipino Superhero Adaptation

The 49th Metro Manila Film Festival kicks off in December, and for comic book and superhero fans attending, that means first dibs at Jason Paul Laxamana’s new adaptation, Penduko, which now graces netizens with a first look poster to catch below. The film, which began shooting in August, features Maria star Cristine Reyes with lead actor Matteo Guidicelli in the title role for the character’s latest iteration on screen based on Francisco V. Coching’s original Engkantos comic which took off in 1954. Peter Harris, a 20–year old wimp that was raised in the U.S, will be embarking a journey in the Philippines after his father passes away due to an unknown incident, to search for his mother, only to stumble upon a mythical curse and evil forces that destroy the town. THE UNLEASHED BLAZE: Production Starts On ‘Raging Fire’ Follow-Up From ‘Gallants,’ ‘Full Strike’ Director

Emperor Motion Pictures revealed the start of production for The Unleashed Blaze, reportedly a thematic sequel to the late Benny Chan’s Raging Fire which starred Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse. Derek Kwok (Gallants, Full Strike) is directing the film which reunites Andy Lau and Nicholas Tse who previously starred together in the aforementioned Chan’s 2011 martial arts epic, Shaolin. Plot details are under wraps for the film which was announced back in March without an English title.
