PENDUKO Stands Strong In The First Teaser Poster For The New Live-Action Filipino Superhero Adaptation
The 49th Metro Manila Film Festival kicks off in December, and for comic book and superhero fans attending, that means first dibs at Jason Paul Laxamana’s new adaptation, Penduko, which now graces netizens with a first look poster to catch below. The film, which began shooting in August, features Maria star Cristine Reyes with lead actor Matteo Guidicelli in the title role for the character’s latest iteration on screen based on Francisco V. Coching’s original Engkantos comic which took off in 1954.
Peter Harris, a 20–year old wimp that was raised in the U.S, will be embarking a journey in the Philippines after his father passes away due to an unknown incident, to search for his mother, only to stumble upon a mythical curse and evil forces that destroy the town.
