AVA SNOW BATTLES DEATH Is Available Online

Following last year’s successful crowdfunding of independent filmmaker Zack Drisko‘s mini online webseries, Ava Snow Battles Death, the series is now online, with three episodes with the third being an interactive “Choose Your Adventure” style episode. From a critical standpoint, there’s not much action as the episodes are more dramatic and comedic in nature with a character who looks built tough and can handle herself in any situation, and I would personally love to see this little story go deeper.

Thankfully, Drisko and actress Arielle Davidsohn are working on doing just that, with the current process of writing a much more comprehensive script to suit the needs for a hopeful feature project. And in all likelihood, with the right people and the right dollar, that hope will turn over some major possibilities along the way.
For now, you can watch what this little indie gem has to offer in its current state with links in the official press release below:

May 6, 2014 – Action series “Ava Snow Battles Death” debuted three new episodes the morning of May 6 on their official Web site, YouTube channel, and Vimeo page. The series is a fantasy-horror-comedy about a knife-throwing heroine named Ava Snow and the overlords from another dimension who want to steal her soul.

The episodes included a choose-your-own-adventure episode that viewers can interact with to drive the story in different directions.

“I loved choose-your-own-adventure books growing up,” said Zack Drisko, one of the series creators, “so I thought it’d be fun to apply that same concept to our online series. In that episode, viewers can make decisions for Ava using YouTube annotations and end up in different situations and get different endings.”

“Ava Snow Battles Death” was created by Drisko and Arielle Davidsohn. They ran a Kickstarter fundraising campaign that was successfully funded Nov. 14, 2013.

“We were really fortunate to have a great team,” Davidsohn said. “They were the ones who made our ideas possible.”

The cast and crew includes people such as Robert C. Jackson, supervising sound editor for Best Picture-winning “12 Years a Slave,” Daniel Scruggs, a VFX artist from “Game of Thrones,” Pedram Shohadai, VFX artist from “Alice in Wonderland,” Russ Glasgow, promo editor for “Tron: Legacy” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” Steve Rizzo, stuntman from “The Dark Knight Rises” and Best Picture-winning “No Country for Old Men,” Andrew Parkhurst, director of photography for Ridley Scott’s “Prophets of Science Fiction,” Christopher Jenkins Holmes, who had a recurring role on “90210” and YouTube star Sam Proof.
