BAD DAY AT THE OFFICE: Two Clips For Chee Keong Cheung’s New POV Action Adventure Starring John Hannah
Director Chee Keong Cheung is having a banner year thusfar in addition to the success of his previous thriller, Son Of The Soil, and most recently inking a co-prod deal with actor Idris Elba. To date, Cheung is on course to have his day at the 79th Edinburgh International Film Festival with the World Premiere of his new action adventure, Bad Day At The Office.
A man with no memory wakes in a wrecked hotel room to find a dead body in his bathtub. Filmed entirely from a first-person POV using GoPros, he and a hotel maid are plunged into a breathless spiral of confusion and conspiracy.
Cheung served among the producers, as well as directed, and served as co-scribe with Oliver Morran. The cast is led by John Hannah, Radha Mitchell, along with Tamer Hassan, Lana Parrilla, Tim Fellingham, Roxanne McKee, Branko Tomović and Victor Gardener.
Bad Day At The Office will World Premiere for the Midnight Madness strand of the Edinburgh International Film Festival on August 13, before rolling out commercially in the UK and Ireland on October 30. Peep the official text below and check out two newly released clips from the film just beneath!
Action Xtreme is thrilled to share two brand new clips from their upcoming turbo charged action-thriller Bad Day at the Office. The film will have its World Premiere as the opening film of the prestigious Midnight Madness strand at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and will be released in UK & Irish Cinemas from 30th October.
Shot entirely in first person, Bad Day At The Office combines a high-octane action thriller with that of an adrenaline-fueled video game. With the action all seen through the eyes of the protagonists via GoPro cameras; every punch, every chase, every explosion is seen and felt.
For fans of Hardcore Henry, blended with Crank, Call of Duty, and sprinkling of Guy Ritchie’s Snatch, this is John Hannah (The Mummy) as you’ve never seen him.
Bad Day at the Office also stars Radha Mitchell (Pitch Black), Tamer Hassan (The Football Factory) and Lana Parrilla (Once Upon a Time) as well as Tim Fellingham (Final Destination 5), Roxanne McKee (Game of Thrones), Branko Tomović (24: Live Another Day) and Victor Gardener (Fast and Furious 6).
Director Chee Keong Cheung has created a wild and relentless POV thriller that puts the audience squarely inside the chaos. You are not watching the main character. You are the main character.
When Karl (John Hannah) awakes in a wrecked hotel room with a splitting headache, it isn’t because he’s nursing a nasty hangover. Karl has no memory of what’s happened, where he is, or even who he is.
When he discovers a dead body in his bathtub, and two police officers soon knocking at his door, it sets into motion a terrifying and explosive series of events that force Karl and hotel maid Molly (Radha Mitchell) on a blind descent into a deceptive world of confusion and conspiracy, all the while with a price on his head and half the city in murderous pursuit.
Karl will need to draw on his forgotten skill sets if he has any hope of survival, as he and Molly endeavour to unravel the mystery that took his memories.
“Shot in the style of first-person shooter video games with cine-literate wit, humor, ferocious pacing and a cracking soundtrack, this is an anarchic, ultra-violent and hilarious thrill ride of pure, cinematic carnage,” said Festival Producer at Edinburgh Emma Boa. “The ultimate Midnight Madness experience.”
Added Cheung: “Bad Day at the Office was an intense, very physical, technically complex and thrilling creative journey. I was fortunate to have a truly amazing cast and crew who helped me realise this crazy epic vision. I’m excited to be able to share this film with audiences and hope they will have as much fun immersing themselves and going along for the ride as we all had making it.”
