Bangkok Sets The Stage For MUAY THAI LIVE: THE LEGEND LIVES!

Ten years after Muay Thai earned its mainstream popularity with Tony Jaa‘s breakout hit, Ong Bak and other films thereafter, it looks as if there is still a demand for this particular style of action. And it seems like the folks behind Bangkok’s newest theater venue, Asiatique The Riverfront, are ready to meet that demand with a new live stage show launching early next year titled, Muay Thai Live: The Legend Lives!

A new trailer has been put together for fans to see, sampling the spectacular stunts and artistic vision attendees can expect from this latest venture by its director, Ekachai Uekrongtham, who happens to be the man behind one of Jaa‘s post Sahamongkol feature projects with actor Dolph Lundgren titled Skin Trade. So, if you happen to be traveling or living anywhere in Asia and looking forward to a possibly good live action martial arts stage show with all the trimmings, feel free to read on.

DESCRIPTION:

Muay Thai Live: The Legend Lives is Bangkok’s thrilling new stage spectacular about Muay Thai origins and heroes. Created and directed by internationally acclaimed film and theatre director Ekachai Uekrongtham of “Beautiful Boxer” fame. Fight choreography by revered Muay Thai Grand Master Sane Tubthimtong. Starring a talented cast culled from nation-wide auditions comprising professional Muay Thai champs, leading stuntmen, martial arts experts plus award-winning sword fighters, trickers and free runners. Music by Thai “Oscar” winner Papassilp Kitawongwat. Sound Design by Nakorn Kositpaisal, winner of Asian Film Award for “Warlords” starring Jet Li and Andy Lau. Dance movement designed by Kanyarat Napasab, one of Thailand’s most sought after choreographers. Production design by Thoranisorn Pitikul who has created set designs for “Chang & Eng”, one of Asia’s most successful stage musicals. Thailand’s ace designers Niphon Thantiyothin and Anusorn Rassameebanpotkun create the show’s costume design and multimedia design respectively. Opening 15 Jan 2014 at The Stage, a brand new, purpose-built arena theatre in the heart of Asiatique The Riverfront, Asia’s largest waterfront shopping and entertainment hub.
