Before It Was Hiddleston And Skarsgård. This Week? It's Luke Evans For THE CROW Lead.
Could casting reports on the upcoming reboot of The Crow get anymore dizzying? Why, sure! In fact, we can now add the name Luke Evans to the list of names being tapped to play the title role.
Sources at Deadline are now reporting that the Welsh actor was actually the original choice to play the role, but couldn’t be secured because of his roles in other film productions like The Hobbit trilogy and Fast And Furious 6. With any luck, director F. Javier Gutierrez can begin shooting the film in early 2014, as opposed to the Fall schedule this year.
So, no Mark Wahlberg, no Bradley Cooper, no James McAvoy, and no Tom Hiddleston nor Alexander Skarsgård. This should settle things, but we’ll see what happens next.
Evans will also appear in the May 10, 2013 release of No One Lives, directed by Ryuhei Kitamura. Fast And Furious 6 will open in theaters on May 24.
