CASH TRUCK: ‘Mindhunter’ Star Holt McCallany Joins Ritchie/Statham English Redo Of French Crime Pic
With a version that would have seen Sandra Bullock starring now no more and Miramax poised for its own Cash Truck remake reuniting director/actor duo Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham, Deadline now brings word that actor Holt McCallany is joining in on the fun.
A remake of the 2004 French crime thriller, Le Convoyeur, Statham in the role of H, described as “a cold and mysterious character” tasked with moving hundreds of millions of dollars every week. The film’s vision as one that weaves through “a suspenseful and carefully constructed narrative”, shifting between various timelines and perspectives “for a thrilling and mind-bending experience.”
As Deadline reported on Friday, McCallany will star opposite Statham as “Bullet, who leads the transportation team and brings aboard H, who might not be who he says he is.”
McCallany has been killing iy since landing a key role on the Netflix series, Mindhunter. He landed on my radar nearly twenty years ago doing a TV series called Freedom and I’ve always enjoyed him since. Fight Club and The Losers delivered some impressive work with him.
Miramax CEO Bill Block and Ivan Atkinson are producing Cash Truck with Hobbs And Shaw star Statham making his latest comeback with Guy Ritchie since Snatch and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels.
