NINJA SCROLL Returns to Theatres to Celebrate 30th Anniversary

The legendary film NINJA SCROLL is returning to the cinema for a special engagement, celebrating 30 years of the iconic film. Originally released in 1993, the film written and directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (director, Wicked City, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust) has stood the test of time as an all time action anime classic, and this writer is excited to see it on the big screen in September! The surprise announcement comes courtesy of Iconic Events Releasing in partnership with HIDIVE, and will roll out as part of the AX Cinema Nights Series, showing in over 500 theatres. The first poster and trailer are here for Dan Da Dan, the new supernatural romantic thriller fantasy anime acquired by GKIDS as of Tuesday. DAN DA DAN follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult freak. The two of them start talking after Momo rescues Okarun from getting bullied. Ryousuke Takahashi (Armored Trooper Votoms, Phoenix, Ozma) is directing an animated series rendition of the hit manga, The Fable, from Tezuka Productions. Mayumi Morita (Black Jack, Vampire Knight) is penning the series alongside Yuya Takashima who is also overseeing the series scripts, with key character designs by Hisama Kinoshita, Saki Hasegawa, and Junichi Hayama. The Fable animated series was announced in the 32nd issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine according to Anime News Network‘s coverage via Comic Natalie.
