THE FABLE: Tezuka Productions Spearheading New Animated Series Based On Hit Manga
Ryousuke Takahashi (Armored Trooper Votoms, Phoenix, Ozma) is directing an animated series rendition of the hit manga, The Fable, from Tezuka Productions. Mayumi Morita (Black Jack, Vampire Knight) is penning the series alongside Yuya Takashima who is also overseeing the series scripts, with key character designs by Hisama Kinoshita, Saki Hasegawa, and Junichi Hayama.
The Fable animated series was announced in the 32nd issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine according to Anime News Network‘s coverage via Comic Natalie. Katsuhisa Minami birthed the award-winning manga for Weekly Young Magazine back in 2014, which centers on an elite killer whose name and reputation strikes fear in the underworld. A number of things that could go wrong eventually do, however, when his employer remands him to an extenuating hiatus away from killing.
Actor Junichi Okada took the mantle for two live-action films directed by Kan Eguchi in 2019 and 2021 from Shochiku. Those films are pretty dope and I dig the character too, so I’m looking forward to seeing what Takahashi brings to the table!
