Actor Dev Patel’s directorial debut, Monkey Man, will bow on Netflix in 2022 for most of the world excluding select terrories with pre-existing deals, according to Deadline‘s Andreas Wiseman.

Highland Film Group’s U.S. distribution offshoot, The Avenue, is slating a summer theatrical 2021 joint release with Paramount Pictures handling Blu-Ray, DVD, VoD and Digital rights for action heist thriller, The Misfits. Highland also reps international sales on the pic which wrapped principal photography in Abu Dhabi prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.

While New World and V.I.P. director Park Hoon-jung’s action horror sequel to 2018’s The Witch: Part 1 – The Subversion moves forward, his latest crime noir, Night In Paradise, is currently being primed to release on Netflix following the streamer’s announcement on Monday.

Director Lu Yang’s Assassin In Red will still have its day at the cinema. Needless to say, it’ll certainly be under a different title with A Writer’s Odyssey now in place for a Chinese New Year release with a U.S. date on February 12 from CMC Pictures.
