Very little can be officially said early on with Tyler Atkins’s new MMA drama, The Beast In Me, save for what’s available now via Instagram. Thanks to actors Daniel MacPherson (Land Of Bad) and Bren Foster (Life After Fighting), we now have a brief look behind-the-scenes showcasing the looks of their characters in the film, including a polaroid of a bruised MacPherson which you can see in the first slide of his most recent Instagram post from over the weekend. The post comes a few weeks after Foster also teased his role in a seperate post hinting with the caption reading in part “New hair, new character, new movie, new fights!!…”. Actor Iko Uwais has been reaching some increasingly newer peaks of late. The photo above, a still from his upcoming directorial debut, Timur, is just the latest first in a pending rollout of firsts hailing the martial arts star’s new production label, Uwais Pictures. Also in toe is martial arts thriller, Ikatan Darah (or Blood Bond), directed by Sidharta Tata who previously helmed TV dramas “Pertaruhan,” and action horror “Zona Merah”. Uwais and his team made the announcement at the Uwais Pictures Press Conference Launch & Slate Announcement event at XXI Plaza Senayan on Tuesday. Both films are part of a newly announced production slate under the Uwais Pictures banner, which itself specializes in fight choreography, action design and stunts. Production is firmly underway for Bomb, a new psychological suspense thriller from director Akira Nagai (Character). Warner Bros. Japan made the announcement on Monday including a super teaser in their rollout of casting news. Actors Yuki Yamada (Godzilla Minus One), Sairi Itoh (Don’t Call It Mystery), Shota Sometani (Cells At Work), and Atsuro Watabe (Masquerade Night), will star in the film. Bomb is based on Wu Seung-ho’s award-winning novel which follows the efforts of Tokyo’s Metro Police negotiator, as he is tasked with investigating a slew of bomb threats throughout the city, and a detained drunken vagrant who says he can predict when the bombs will go off. The film additionally reunites Yamada with Shota Okada (Tokyo Revengers trilogy) who is producing the new film. Production is already underway for the new live-action treatment of Voltron as announced about a day prior to this post by Screen Queensland. The Amazon MGM Studios’ production is being directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber for a cast that lists feature starring Sterling K. Brown, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Henry Cavill, Rita Ora, John Kim, Alba Baptista, Samson Kayo and Tharanya Tharan. Thurber is producing, as well as penning the script with co-scribe Ellen Shanman, which follows the epic tale of five explorers who come together to pilot a quintet of Robot Lions that can form the ultimate humanoid robot warrior, Voltron, to battle evil. Filming is underway in Tampere, Finland for Jorma Taccone’s (Pop Star: Never Stop Stopping, MacGruber, SNL) new thriller, The Trip. Actors Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Timothy Olyphant, and Juliette Lewis are starring from a script by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney, which re-envisions Tommy Wirkola’s Norwegian 2021 thriller of the same name. Here, Segel and Weaving play a dysfunctional couple who head to a remote cabin to “reconnect,” but each has secret intentions to kill the other. Rounding out the cast are Paul Guilfoyle, and UFC Octagon legend Keith Jardine. Cameras are now rolling as of this weeks in Bogota, Colombia for survival thriller, Coyote, from director Colin Minihan (What Keeps You Alive, Grave Encounters) as announced by Capstone Studios’ CEO Christian Mercuri. Cast includes Justin Long (Barbarian) and Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns, 21, Remember the Titans) with a script storied by by Daniel Meersand & Nick Simon (The Pyramid, The Girl in the Photographs) and Tad Daggerhart (The Expendables 4, Black Lotus), and written by Daggerhart and Simon. Daggerhart, Long, and Bosworth are also exec producing Coyote, which follows a family fighting for their lives against a pack of crazed coyotes during a raging wildfire in the Hollywood Hills. Emmy winner Kiefer Sutherland’s new action thriller, Sierra Madre, is making the rounds in Las Vegas this week with casting addition as of Tuesday. Production is now underway in the UK for Edgar Wright’s iteration of The Running Man. Hit Man and Twisters star Glen Powell is starring along with Josh Brolin, Katy O’Brian, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones and William H. Macy. An action classic reboot of the 1987 TriStar release with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wright takes a page from “Richard Bachman” to provide something much closer to pennamed author Stephen King’s 1982 novel. Wright penned with co-scribe Michael Bacall and is producing alongside Simon Kinberg and Nira Park for the film’s November 2025 release. Based on the 1982 Stephen King novel, The Running Man centres around a deadly game show in which one man must outrun professional killers over 30 days to win a cash prize and save his sick child. Fans of “The Stath” will be sure to get some more action in 2025 with Mutiny, from Plane director Jean-François Richet. Actor Jason Statham revealed a first look at the film in an Instagram post on Monday with production already underway in the UK. After his billionaire industrialist boss is murdered in front of him, Cole Reed is set up to take the fall for the crime — leaving him on the run as he works to uncover an international conspiracy. Lionsgate took North American rights on the pic ahead of Cannes earlier this year and is releasing the film wide in theaters in 2025. Richet is directing from a script by Lindsay Michel and Plane scribe JP Davis. Munity also stars Annabelle Wallis, and hails from Mad River Pictures and Statham’s Punch Palace label. Jimmy Carlson and Lauren Bond are directing Drive Through Fire which has Red Sea Media launching world sales at the upcoming American Film Market in November. The 3CB production is already underway in Oklahoma with the banner announcing Michael Jai White for the cast along with Carlson, and co-stars Dan Bakkedahl, Jennifer Bond, and Kate Duffy. The story follows an addict war veteran turned rideshare driver who helps a terrified passenger escape a human trafficking ring serving wealthy clients. White will play a veteran detective who gets involved in the case while violent mobsters pursue the woman. Carlson and Bond are directing from Carlson’s screenplay. Action thriller Havoc is finally underway with additional photography on the Gareth Huw Evans-directed pic. Production previously took place between July and October of 2021 before Evans hinted at some more needed work on the film in the last few years. Several factors hampered its speed in that time, including cast scheduling, the pandemic, and the strikes. In that time, Evans also took the time to refurbish his hit 2011 actioner, The Raid, which screened for select audiences and debuted on 4K disc back in January. With Havoc, the film had reportedly been complete with just five percent of production remaining. On Monday, Evans formally announced on Instagram that that cameras were rolling to get the rest finished.
