Premiere: SEIZED Rolls Cameras In Mexico With Florentine, Adkins Back On Set

The week has commenced and principal photography is underway for Isaac Florentine’s Seized. His last film in directing capacity with action star Scott Adkins on Close Range turned out to be quite the less-than-impressive feat for some fans despite some solid performances on the action front, and so hopefully the duo who’ve been kicking it on set together for sixteen years now will finally find their footing together in a setting other than the prison confines of Boykaworld. The news comes following Adkins’ arrival several days ago to Mexico announced via Instagram Story as production rose imminent where he’ll be joined with actor Mario Van Peebles whose role remains undisclosed. Anyone expectant of Darkest Hour and Hunter Killer actor Gary Oldman staking his claim as a prime choice for cinema villainy won’t be let down anytime soon. He’ll be in Rise Of The Footsoldier 3 director Zackery Adler’s newest, The Courier, another in the action genre for actress Olga Kurylenko of 007 franchise and Momentum fame. As Andrea Wiseman at Deadline reports exclusively on Tuesday, Oldman will play the ruthless crime lord whose actions are the subject of a key witness now marked for death. The method? A package to be delivered by Kurylenko’s title character unbeknowst of its contents. Signature Films steers production to next month with new UK-based Rollercoaster Angel Productions. Deadline‘s Peter White is reporting exclusively that stunt coordinator and filmmaker Jung Byung-gil will be on par to direct a pilot episode for a TV series adaptation of 2017 Cannes favorite, The Villainess. Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment (The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead) is shepherding the series in a deal with Next Entertainment World’s Contents Panda with the search now underway for a series writer. Iron Man and upcoming MIB: International scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are being groomed to rewrite the script for Masters Of The Universe. As of last Spring, Band Of Robbers helmers Aaron and Adam Nee are still set to direct the film inspired by the popular He-Man toy franchise of the 70s and 80s from Mattel. It was the franchise that spawned a hit animated series centered on a prince who battles the evil forces of Skeletor to protect the castle, Grayskull. A live-action feature film adaptation from Golan/Globus and director Gary Goddard was released in 1987 to cult acclaim with Dolph Lundgren starring. Much to stunt professional and prolific showrunner Ben Bray’s credit, the premiere of his feature debut at last year’s exiting installment of the Los Angeles Film Festival for El Chicano would be one for the history books. Injudiciously, there are some festivals whose curators remained recalitrant on showcasing a latin superhero film as much as Bray insists that it’s more than a generic crime thriller set in the barrio. For all intents and purposes this week, he’ll be making that case with a premiere at the Palm Springs Film Festival in California on Tuesday at 7:30pm and on Wednesday at 4:00pm. Chad Stahelski’s John Wick: Chapter 3 took a spot among USA Today‘s exclusive photo gallery featuring Keanu Reeves in the title role. The photo is presented from another angle seperate to the latest photo from Lionsgate with Reeves sitting opposite actress Anjelica Huston who plays “The Director” in the movie. Stahelski helms the third consecutive installment of the John Wick franchise since taking off with the first film in 2014 co-director David Leitch. Directing solo for a second time, Stahelski aims to catapult moviegoers thrice over into the dark, treacherous, semi-obscure world of assassins whose network has officially marked our protagonist for death following the events of the 2017 film. THE KITCHEN: McCarthy, Haddish And Moss Are Back In A Brand New Still From The Upcoming Crime Pic

USA Today rolled out a batch of “new look” photos toward several films coming out this year. Andrea Berloff’s The Kitchen stood among the roster as well, host to a new look at our main cast which you can view at the bottom of the page. The film is based on the 2015 Vertigo Comics publication and centers on three housewives forced to take the mantle as criminal underworld competitors in place of their incarcerated husbands in 1978’s Hell’s Kitchen. Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss lead the cast from a script by Berloff. Also starring are Domhnall Gleeson, James Badge Dale, Brian d’Arcy James, Margo Martindale, Oscar winner Common, and Bill Camp. Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing the film on September 20.
