KINGDOM: Don’t Miss The Second Trailer For The New Netflix Action Horror Series
Just in time for the new year, Netflix unveiled a new official trailer for the upcoming six-part series, Kingdom. The show is set to premiere on January 25 and despite all comparisons to Kim Sung-hoon’s Rampant, should likely serve something a little extra, if not different, what with a second season in the works for its narrative. In a kingdom defeated by corruption and famine, a mysterious rumor of the king’s death spreads, as does a strange plague that renders the infected immune to death and hungry for flesh. The crown prince, fallen victim to a conspiracy, sets out on a journey to unveil the evil scheme and save his people. Dark Figure Of Crime star Ju Ji-hoon leads the cast along with Bae Doo-na of Sense8 and Cloud Atlas fame, and Psychokinesis star Ryoo Seung-ryong lead cast among the roster in recently-unveiled character posters. Coin Locker Girl helmer Han Jun-hee has returned and thus, with an official trailer for Hit-And-Run Squad. A January date is to be expected for the new high-speed action thriller starring Kong Hyo-jin and actors Ryu Jun-yeol and Cho Jung-seok. A CHASE BETWEEN A ROOKIE POLICE OFFICER AGAINST A RICH AND POWERFUL SPEED MANIAC Min-jae (RYU Jun-yeol), a rookie police officer with a natural born talent for driving, is assigned to the perfect team: the Hit-and-Run Squad. But at the same time, for police detective Si-yeon (KONG Hyo-jin), it is a place she is unjustly demoted to for doing her job. The two team up to arrest the rich and powerful speed maniac Jae-chul (CHO Jung-seok) who is suspected of committing crimes for his obsession for speed.
ZOMBIELAND 2 Adds Dan Akroyd With Fellow ‘Ghostbuster’ Bill Murray To Rejoin Cast
Dan Akroyd has reportedly come aboard in reunion with Bill Murray Zombieland 2: Double Tap, according to Geeks Worldwide. The news follows up from recent casting of actor Avan Jogia in the role of Berkeley for Sony’s new sequel outing from Ruben Fleischer who helmed Zombieland. They convene with the first film’s principal cast of Jesse Eisenberg Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin, along with new franchise add, Zoey Deutch. Murray briefly appeared in the first film with the primary cast as an actor dressed as a zombie to avoid other oncoming zombies amidst an apocalypse from whence our roving quarter of nicknamed zombiekillers united. THE PINCH: Crime Thriller From Ashley Scott Meyers Out Now On Prime
Ashley Scott Meyers’ directing debut arrived just in time for the holidays with suspenseful crime pic, The Pinch. Billing it as a hybrid mix of Misery and Goodfellas, the official trailer making the rounds does the work in making the case while folks curious can weigh in with a viewing over at Amazon Prime. When a low level mobster is nearly rubbed out by the boss, he decides to take the bonus he was promised by force, so he kidnaps the boss and demands a hefty ransom. Meyers, who also pilots his own podcast and blog over at sellingyourscreenplay.com, has also written Rushlights and Lloyd Lee Barnett’s 2014 pic, Ninja Apocalypse. He pens the script and helms with a cast that lists Gunner Wright (G.I. Joe, the Dead Space game franchise) and James Aston Lake (Deadpool).

In Memoriam: Ringo Lam (1955-2018)
Dim Sum Daily is reporting that celebrated Hong Kong film auteur Ringo Lam abruptly passed away on Saturday at his home in Hong Kong. According to the article, his wife called an ambulance though Lam was pronounced dead by then, while an autopsy report remains to be seen per the details of his death. It’s a devastating blow to the world of Asian film fandom in the wake of Lam’s legendary career in cinema which began in 1976, with Lam taking the helm for titles like Espirit d’amor in 1983, and serial action comedy Aces Go Places IV in 1986. A year later he would set fire to the genre beginning with gritty Hong Kong actioners like City On Fire and Full Contact starring Chow Yun-Fat. Interestingly, Lee Seung-won’s Revenger appears to be among the lot with a date set for January 15 which should serve nicely for the martial arts action crowd following its release in South Korea earlier this month. China Movie Channel And HBO Asia Set February For Two New ‘Master’ Kung Fu Flicks
On Monday at an event in Beijing, China Movie Channel and HBO Asia have since re-officiated their Asia-exclusive partnership re: their slate of martial arts films two years after the success of Master of the Drunken Fist: Beggar So and Master of the Shadow-less Kick: Wong Kei-Ying. Director Guo Jianyong, who shepherded both films, is back at the helm for Master of the White Crane Fist: Wong Yan-Lam, a legendary martial artist who biographically shares history as one of the “Ten Tigers Of Kwangtung”. The film will air on both platforms on February 20, 2019, followed by Master of the Nine Dragon Fist: Wong Ching-Ho from director Si Xiaodong on February 21. Actor Marc Natoli has officially come aboard the cast in Eric Red’s upcoming survival thriller, No Man’s Ridge, which just signaled its casting on Friday hours earlier attaching actor and producer John Fallon. The three are further joined as of Friday by actor Nick Principe, best known for his role in Ravi Dhar’s 2014 actioner, American Muscle. Red is directing from his own script which centers on five heavily-armed extreme hunters who go into the remote Wyoming wilderness to bag Bigfoot, but instead find themselves out-manned against a relentless killing machine when they trespass on the Sasquatch’s turf. OUTLAWS: A24 Revs Up The Official Trailer For The New Aussie Crime Thriller
Long since becoming the festival hit it was in Australia, North America and other territories, Stephen McCallum’s directorial debut is now readying its U.S. release with Outlaws. Formerly titled 1%, Outlaws depicts the tale of Knuck, an ex-convict now out of prison and caught in a slow-spiraling impasse into violent conflict with the de-facto president of the Copperhead Motorcycle Club, his surrogate son, Paddo. Ryan Corr stars along with Abbey Lee, Aaron Pederson and Matt Nable who also penned the script.
