Dan Akroyd has reportedly come aboard in reunion with Bill Murray Zombieland 2: Double Tap, according to Geeks Worldwide. The news follows up from recent casting of actor Avan Jogia in the role of Berkeley for Sony’s new sequel outing from Ruben Fleischer who helmed Zombieland.
They convene with the first film’s principal cast of Jesse Eisenberg Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin, along with new franchise add, Zoey Deutch. Murray briefly appeared in the first film with the primary cast as an actor dressed as a zombie to avoid other oncoming zombies amidst an apocalypse from whence our roving quarter of nicknamed zombiekillers united.
Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.
Gavin Polone is producing the sequel from a script by exec producers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Deadpool, Deadpool 2) and will arrive in October in time for its ten-year anniversary.
