It’s been a journey imperiled with insurmountable odds at times – challenges that Allica has met head on through some pretty immense problem-solving and resourceful thinking. To that end, Allica’s journey of production ended when he officially wrapped all post-prod editing back in September and garnered the attention of the trades thanks to landing a platform with international sales reps at Kaleidoscope. SHIN ULTRAMAN Attacks In A Brand New Teaser Ahead Of May 2022 Release

It’s taken all of this year for things to finally align for Tsuburaya Productions and Toho as the two companies worked to further mitigate the hampering conditions of the on-going pandemic. Invariably though, Shin Ultraman is finally coming as announced on Monday during the Tsuburaya Convention 2021 special program with two pairs of updated posters and teasers – one of the latter which you can view above showcasing our titular hero. Slated for a May 13, 2022 release from Toho, Shin Ultraman is directed by Shinji Higuchi, in reunion with Shin Godzilla cohort, screenwriter Hideaki Anno who is also producing the pic via his Studio Khara banner following the film’s announcement several years ago. Up for some more Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie? STX is signaling fans with a new poster released on Tuesday for Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre, which opens in theaters on January 21, 2022. S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR Hails Trailer Date In Newest Official Poster

Following the releases of two anthems and a teaser in the past month, the newest poster is now online for S.S. Rajamouli’s new period thriller, RRR, signaling a December 3 trailer launch. The film stars N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan as freedom fighters in a story set in the 1920s, with Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris also starring. Slated for release on January 7, 2022, RRR (also recognized as “Rise, Roar, Revolt”) is one of the biggest and most anticipated films of the new year, after four years of active development, of which three years saw principal photography with a production that stared down the global COVID-19 pandemic before finally wrapping back in August. Lana Wachowski’s The Matrix Resurrections is gearing up to make some serious forward-looking changes for the franchise – the most peculiar one being the return of Morpheus via actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, with an incarnation of the character he himself has alluded to as unlike the one previously played by Lawrence Fishburne in the original trilogy. There’s tiny hints of this in the most recent teaser, and it’ll be interesting to find out how this and other surprises will affect the story that many of us have become so familiar with, featuring the now returning Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss. ASSAULT ON RIO BRAVO Poster Takes Aim At The Western Frontier With Alexander Nevsky Starring

The first pending installment to filmmaker Joe Cornet’s independent Western saga is in-bound with the latest keyart now making the rounds for Alexander Nevsky headliner, Assault On Rio Bravo. The film is just the latest return to the genre for actor/director Cornet whose most recent film, Western Promise, scored 16 nominations at The Wild Bunch Film Festival, including Best Picture and Best Director. Based on a true story and with a sequel also en route, Assault On Rio Bravo sees Nevsky as a foreign gunslinger in 1875 who is pit against a bloodthirsty gang of outlaws in Texas. Louis Siu-Wong Fan is not a name that casual action fans know but for diehards and cult cinema aficionados he will always be revered due to the fact that he starred in one of the goriest (and silliest) Hong Kong martial arts films ever produced- RIKI-OH: THE STORY OF RICKY. This 1991 exploitation flick (based on a popular Japanese Manga and Anime) is one of the earliest examples of a clip going viral as one of its gorier moments (pictured below) was used for years on the Comedy Central television program THE DAILY SHOW. Okay… Okay! I get it. It’s hard to muster any enthusiasm these days when you see the words “Bruce Willis” and “Direct To Video” so close together. Willis seemingly has a new one of these out every few months and most of the time he looks like he is barely awake, let alone interested in what’s occurring on set. What’s intriguing about this one though is that the script comes from Ross Peacock. Ross made a name for himself in the action film fan community with insightful and detailed breakdowns of action filmmaking he posted on his YouTube channel over the years. The 31st annual Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival kicks off its five-day event on September 16, and Karate Kill and Gun Woman helmer Kurando Mitsutake is totally here for it all, indicating as much with the first official poster for his new horror, Maniac Driver. There aren’t any story details, but all we need to know is that Mitsutake is looking to make this the first-ever foray into the Japanese-Giallo genre, which is exactly the kind of energy Mitsutake appears to be matching. The series is produced by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo), and directed by Shinji Aramaki (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ultraman [Manga] ) and Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East, Ultraman [Manga] ). It’s been five years since a live-action adaptation was announced bringing Toshio Sako’s longstanding manga, Usogui, to the big screen. For those otherwise keeping score, fans looking forward to the pic hailing from Warner Bros. Japan got their first glimpse of what it will look like with actor Ryusei Yokohama (Your Eyes Tell) front and center of some serious John Wick: Chapter Two vibes. So what’s the big deal here for the latest from director Hideo Nakata (Ring franchise, Sadako)? Well, the story follows Yokohama in the role of Baku Madarame – a.k.a. The Lie Eater – a mysterious gambler dispensing his own brand of justice against dishonest players, who takes his trade to the underworld’s top illegal gambling den, Club Kakerou, and you can definitely guess there’s more to the story if the poster below any clue. There’s yet to be an English title but feel free to bookmark Daikaijyu no Atoshimatsu going forward as it stays the course for a 2022 release starring Ryosuke Yamada (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Tao Tsuchiya (Rurouni Kenshin saga). A co-prod between Shochiku and Toei, both actors play ex-fiancees to one-another – specialists in their field who are assigned to the charge of a monster that attacks Japan and suddenly dies, only to ensue the looming threat of the country’s collapse stemming from a potential gas explosion from where the monster’s carcass lays.
