Japan auteur Takashi Miike has already taken a hold on a few headlines this week re: The Great Yokai War: Guardians. Don’t count him out just yet however as it’s only the middle of the week, because Miike is on track to get some extra attention with the teaser now running for Lumberjack The Monster, opening locally in theaters on December 1 from Warner Bros. Japan.
Director Jimmy Henderson chose some time to kill on Wednesday to share the first official poster art for KTV: Killing Time Violently. The new movie reteams him with much of his Jailbreak and Hanuman crew, including actor and martial artist Dara Our who stars in the film from a script penned by Henderson and co-writer Kai Miller
TACFEST had its inaugural festivities over the weekend in Spain celebrating the action genre at large. Par for the course was the world’s first Finnish-Iranian action adventure thriller, Layers Of Lies, starring Ramin Sohrab whose debut feature is currently set for further screenings beginning June 2 in Finland which you can learn more about here.

Following a delay in the campaign for what would have been a June release, fans instead got several updates on Saturday with a look at Jawan, a new Hindi-language action adventure starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Atlee for his fifth outing. The film is also slated for a September 7 release from AA Films and Yash Raj Films, and a brand new teaser trailer and poster are making the rounds as of the weekend to signal fans.
I’ve been awake for a few hours before I’m actually supposed to be up and about my day, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to share some of the latest enticing poster art for director Lee Sang-yong’s The Roundup: No Way Out. There’s a main poster in both Hangul and English, as well as a trio of character posters making the rounds for the film’s May 31 release.
What you’re seeing above is the teaser that launched a few weeks ago for slient wilderness adventure romp, Hundreds Of Beavers. Directed by Mike Cheslik and starring Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, the film is still running strong at festivals with screenings currently set for Thursday Friday evening in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Director Shingo Soejima continues to make moves this year after winning audiences over with his most recent local release, Eleven Greed. His latest effort, Kigurumi Blade, is now on the way and as of February with teaser footage and poster art that’s all the more menacing for a dark, gritty gangster thriller with killer action and spectacle to cosign.
Film Movement is announcing its latest campaign for director Dominik Moll’s French true crime thriller, The Night Of The 12th. The film screened at Cannes last year before entertaining audiences in the summer in Brussels and the world over and having recently made two festival stops in the U.S. just earlier this month, and will next premiere at NYC’s Quad Cinema on May 19, with additional markets to follow.
Sony Pictures is going hard in the final weeks with its campaign to promote Tomek Baginski’s new film, Knights Of The Zodiac, and they’re following up with a bevy of promotional artwork to help build on the momentum. The artwork features the cast led by Mackenyu (Rurouni Kenshin: The Final, JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable), who takes the mantle for the film’s central narrative stemming from Masami Kurumada’s hit manga, “Saint Seiya.”
Patriot Pictures and XYZ Films have brought on Wayward Entertainment to release Nick Cassavetes’s newest thriller, God Is A Bullet. The trio have released a first look still which you can view in the lead just beneath, along with the official poster at the bottom of the page.

International sales agent Third Window Films has affirmed its next steps forward with Reiki Tsuno’s fantastically entertaining action comedy adventure thriller, Mad Cats. The film is currently poised to screen for the White Raven Competition of the 41st BIFFF in Brussels next month. Further festival dates and commercial release announcements remain pending as well, and those updates can’t come soon enough.
One of the most propulsive action crime sagas ever made in the last decade remains on track for a third entry in its non-linear layout with The White Storm 3: Heaven Or Hell. The Herman Yau-directed thriller starring Louis Koo, Aaron Kwok, and Sean Lau will release in local cinemas this summer on July 28, as announced by AMTD Digital Inc. on Wednesday.
Well Go USA has acquired Ernesto Diaz Espinoza’s newest martial arts opus, Fist Of The Condor, following its world premiere at IFFR back in January. Alas, Screenrant contributor Brad Curran was on hand to debut the official poster which you can check out at the bottom of the page.
