Nearly five years to the day since this post, The Last Inquisitors helmer Guy Bleyart’s sophmore outing finally hit the straightaway for its last lap with the pending release of dystopian sci-fi actioner, Transit 17. Five years… yep. That’s what going independent is for a feature – the kind that takes years on mininal budget to complete. And not for nothing either with Bleyaert’s efforts now signaling consumers with an official poster hailing from Vision Films. Transit 17 tells of a team of resistance soldiers on a mission to save a young girl who may turn out to be their last hope for a cure to a viral outbreak that’s torn its way throughout Europe. In part, this obviously means Disney+ with news much ado with its line-up including The Mandalorian which debuts November 12 on the streamer. Son Yong-Ho’s second feature release since The Deal is making head way next month with The Bad Guys: Reign Of Chaos. That’s the new international title for the film outside South Korea where CJ Entertainment retains its dominion for a September 11 theatrical release as its North American branch plots a date to be later announced. The Bad Guys: Reign Of Chaos is a spin-off of the popular OCN crime procedural from 2014 and 2016. Actors Don Lee and Kim Sang-Joong rejoin the franchise five years since the series for the story of a ragtag team of badasses assembled to deliver their brand of unorthodox justice when a prison transport escape leads to the emergence of a new powerful crime figure. It’s been quite the while since director Joseph Kosinski took to the helm with twice the Tom Cruise for futuristic sci-fi, Oblivion. They’re back together now and with San Diego Comic Con in full steam, the official teaser for Top Gun: Maverick is now here. The plot is largely a mystery though the general knowledge is that the iconic role of Maverick – played by Cruise since the 1986 film – will be an instructor in a technologically advanced world. At long last though, we finally have the official trailer now live and running ahead of the MMA action drama’s August 29 release with Remy Ishak, Zul Ariffin, Niezam Zaidi, Mira Filzah and Nik Adam Mika starring. MMA fighters Adam and Johan take on each other and this results in Johan being seriously injured. Distressed by this, Adam tries to atone for his mistakes by helping out Johan’s family.
