Timo Tjahjanto Teases THE BIG 4: PART TWO As Filming Is Currently Underway

Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto has long since found fruition at Netflix, having established himself as a staple in Southeast Asian genre crowdpleasure with films like 2022 action comedy, The Big 4. As it stands now, a sequel is underway with Timo posting updates via his socials, including on Wednesday with a new look at the film’s title card which you can view below.
Tjahjanto directed the first installment with a cast led by Putri Marino who played a dauntless cop venturing to avenge her father’s murder by a mysterious assailant. Her incognito investigation leads her to an island motel, teaming her up with a quartet of skilled oddball assassins she learns was mentored by her father, joining together on a quest brimming with trippy spectacle and comedy, topped off with explosive and bloody action.
The film’s ending also teased a sequel potentially involving new players hinting at “unfinished business”. With the sequel pending, so do those casting specifics, at least until Netflix reveals who’s who, what, where and why. Until then, plot details casting info and all else currently remain under wraps.
I suspect this installment will arrive sometime in 2027. In the meantime, Tjahjanto is a working man these days having already wrapped up The Beekeeper 2 for Amazon MGM Studios, and prepping new action comedy The Burnout, which was announced last week.
